So I made a thread asking what was the worst restaurant you've been to. But why complain about the shitty ones when you can be talking about your favorites! Just one thing though Try not to include fast food restaurants. I'm asking for more independant restaurants fancy or not. Also how was the food you ordered? service? where was/is it?
For me it's a tie between Mcloons and Town House Diner. Mcloones is in Sea Bright NJ, went with my Mom after a long and stressful car ride to this place and we stumbled upon it while driving. Got a kick ass Tuna Wrap and we sat outside on the water. It was amazing!
Tl;dr Favorite Restaurant and why?

There's three (no order):
- Trattoria Milanese A restaurant in Milan (funnily enough) that is 100 years old. The entire menu was in italian, but the head waiter was incredibly helpful. He suggested that we have both kinds of homemade ravioli and a desert. So first off we had spinach and ricotta ravioli and then secondly sage and pumpkin ravioli. I have never had pasta quite like it, good God it was beautiful. They made it fresh ffs. Served in a bed of warm olive oil. Divine. Then for pudding we had zabaglione with biscotti to dip in, all washed down with a bottle of house red.
- World Service Went for my anniversary with the gf in Nottingham to this place. Ridiculously expensive, but the food was great. It was fusion cuisine, so basically they showed off. Small portions but very rich and great-tasting. Plus with the bill they gave us a slate, on which was homemade white chocolate and dark chocolate fudge, chocolate-dipped strawberries and "Happy Anniversay" written in melted white chocolate. Amazing.
- Odds Possibly the most beautiful restaurant there is. It's in the middle of Cornwall overlooking the sea and nothing but fields and hills. When you approach, all you can see is a stone shack with grass for a roof. Down a flight of stairs to reveal a large dining area that has a panoramic view of the countryside. It's breathtaking. The food was brilliant as well; all locally sourced and produced.
I'll go back to all three the moment I can afford to!

That was a huge letdown.
My favorite is a place called Dewerf. They have food you can have from 4/5 euros, and it is very good food, Godly food, dare I say. Simple but magnificent.
They are really funny, they serve, for instance tomato soup with meatballs and meatballs with tomato soup separately. They have a wide variety of tea on their menu, fresh tea not the bags and they provide details about the good qualities of the tea, like good for sleeping, good for headache or to get you aroused.
They serve do it yourself chocolate drinks (warm milk and a platter of fresh broken chocolate to put in there) and diy fruitjuice, some pieces of fruit and a classic plastic juicer.
They serve freshly baken and delicious bread and have like the best pasta I ever had. They serve chowders (one entire loaf of bread hollowed out and filled with a stew which you can pick) and very classic and simple desserts, like chocomousse for 2 people or petit-beurre cake.
Once you eat their petit-beurre cake, you would keep coming back for more. Also, most of their stuff is bio-organic, but they steer clear of getting too pricy.

Every Ask restaurant I've been to have served microwaved pasta and charged £8+ for it. Thieving bastards who are an embarassment to italian restaurants.

Mills River Restaurant is a sit down diner type restaurant in my area with really good food. Portions are much larger than restaurant chains that are more spread out and you get them for around $7 per person so whenever I have time and people to go with it's a great meal.

Also, there is this spare ribs restaurant and it's kind of all you can eat and they have a menue of like 50 different ways they make the spare ribs, sadly you can only eat 2 or 3 if you're really hungry.
That was a pretty epic place.

Buckhead's. I think it's a local place, but they serve this awesome burger called Fire on the Mountain burger. It's amazing. A runner-up is Five Guys. Best. Fries. Ever.

I thought of another one. Bob's Burger Palace in Eatontown Nj ( No pun intended) First off the logo is basically colored in to look like a burger with the words Bob's Burger Palace, But I digress. I got something I think it was called a Bobby Blu Burger and it was fucking delicious. I forgot what was on it maybe just the basic stuff but it was amazing and don't get me started on the sweet potato fries. Also the service was very nice and you ordered up front insted of at the table not to mention the layout.
Damn this threads making me hungry.

It is this little Italian hole-in-the-wall restaurant down near the beach. This is real authentic Italian and they have the best lasagna that I have ever tasted. I would live at the beach and eat there every day if I could.

An Italian restaurant in my city called Johnny Carino's. It's essentially Olive Garden, but it's better at everything.
