Japanese Vending Machines

Japan has added these vending machines in a Tokyo Station and they plan to add more

"Japan has a love affair with vending machines. You can get anything, from hot coffee to hot noodles to fresh fruit to cigarettes, from the ubiquitous machines. So it's only natural that they'd jump on the touchscreen vending machine bandwagon first.

A new touchscreen machine called the aCure has just been installed in the bustling Shinagawa Station in Tokyo, and it's already been attracting a crowd. Featuring the huge slew of various beverages that salarymen are used to, it doesn't do anything particularly novel. But it sure looks awesome, and it's flashy. And you know what? That might just be enough for it to catch on."

Yeah, every screen around here that's not behind about 3 inches of bulletproof glass gets smashed and / or stolen within like a day. And it's totally pointless too. Why can't you just see what you're buying anyway?

For that matter, how do you know when something's out of stock? Do you have to trust this thing not to glitch up on you over stuff like that?

Here in Okinawa you can find a bunch of vending machines like in every block.
While your out on the road you could occasionally find a vending machine in the middle of nowhere...

On Topic: Odd, but i don't think i have ever seen a vending machine been destroyed. But if those get destroyed i can't imagine how much it must cost.

my cousin who lived in japan was telling me about that last week. he said there are random ass vending machines for just about anything all over the place. they have cigarette vending machine and booze vending machines. and they dont really have any way of checking age.
