But Chrome and Opera support split-screen and addons for Firefox can split screen space. There's virtually no reason not to use tabs more often.
I'm aware of the split-screen features. It's just like having a new window that's always forced to be next to another window. No thanks.
It's awkward having a huge resolution, and then only using a tiny percentage of it for what you're actively doing. Why have three websites in a single tabbed window with vast amounts of empty space around it when you can have three full-sized windows showing everything at the same time? I just don't see a reason to use tabs.

But for those of us with small resolutions, tabs are so much more efficient.
The redesign happened, now my signature doesn't match anymore.

I think it depends on the situation. For example, I find tabs a lot easier to use when browsing new websites or going through Google search results, even with a high resolution.
If I'm going to check out all the content on a new website, I might open 15-20 or more tabs clicking through its content. The same goes for when I browse through Google search results. After that, I can just close each tab one-by-one when I'm done with it, allowing me to go through all my tabs quickly and efficiently. Using new windows instead of tabs would just be messier; it's not like I can look at more than one website at a time anyway.

I officially nomitate this poll as completely useless, and I shall now ponder for 12 straight hours as to what exactly was going through my head when I made this thread.

I like tabs unless i'm playing a flash game in which case I open up a different browser than IE so it doesn't have sticky keys.

I definitely prefer tabs over new windows. Whenever I have more than two windows open on my computer, it starts to lag and get slow. And for some odd reason, my mouse is usually at the top of the screen whenever I take my hand off of it. So it's faster to click on the tabs right under it.

Well, yeah, I do that too. I was talking about keeping each website (tabs or not) in its own window, although I didn't say that explicitly.

Mm, Tab, since i often have plenty of MSN conversations going on at the same time, and woe be told if they all squish together.

I like to tab. I usually have Wikipedia and/or Yahoo on so if I don't understand something I can be all like "I know shit now!".

New tab, I have a couple of windows open at the moment with a couple of tabs in each. Watching a video in one and on Newgrounds in this one.
Tabs are easier because my taskbar is often cluttered up with multiple things, don't need multiple Chrome windows as well.
