4.07 / 5.00 10,082 ViewsHello. Im going to buy either bioshock 1 or 2 tonight, and I wanted to know some things. Im not big on violence in video games, and 2 looked a LOT more violent than 1. This true? Also, which is longer? Im pretty sick of Mw2, and kinda just wanna chill out with a long, slightly challenging game. So to conclude,
Less violence?
Longer gameplay?
Which is harder?
Which is more fun?

#1 Because you don't drill someones head to the ground
#2 Online play increases the length
Draw. Both are as hard as each other on the hardest difficulty.
#1 The storyline of the first is just some intricately thought out and well laid that you will play through it again and again to try and find all the audio diaries.
Also #1 is cheaper and a much better game on the whole.
Neither, because they both bore the hell out of me.
Well, I'm somewhat forgiving about the first game.
Bioshock 1 has a better storyline, and it's better at immersion.
Bioshock 2 has better graphics and better gameplay.
True story...
Look at the numbers at the end of the titles. They are there for a reason. 1 comes before 2.
And Simple's answers to your other questions are exactly what I would say.

I haven't played 2, but I highly recommend 1.

Bioshock 1,2 are great games but first buy the bioshock 1 and then bioshock 2 that is my advice.
Definitely buy 1 first. If you bought 2 first, you're just going to have way too many questions about where you are and what's going on.
Bioshock 2 was my personal favorite of the two. Contrary to what other people say, Bioshock 2's story was way more immersive in my opinion. But the first game's story was easier to follow and had a great twist.
But yeah, just get the first one. I can't guarantee you'll love it if you only play Call of Duty, but it's much better to start out with.

I'll go with Bioshock 1 because it has the originality and the Shock value.

The first one is a little less violent because you don't have a GIANT DRILL FOR A HAND.
Longer gameplay?
The first one has a longer campaign but the second has (mediocre) online play.
Which is harder?
They're both pretty easy because of Vita-Chambers but the second has an option to turn them off, making the game much harder.
Which is more fun?
Well this is a matter of opinion but I liked the first one more.
Wouldn't playing the first game first be the logical thing to do?

You can download an update from Xbox Live or what ever and have the option to turn them off. Even then it's still easy.
I'd go with Bioshock 1 first, simply because it's pretty cheap, it's an amazing game, has a great plot, etc. Bioshock 2 has better gameplay with more interesting weapons/plasmids and things, but the plot's not as good, and also if you played 2 without playing 1 you'd have too many questions etc and it'd be pretty dissatisfying i reckon.
So yeah, Bioshock 1.
Bioshock 2 for fun and Bioshock 1 for fun and spookiness.
Honestly, I like the gameplay in bioshock 2 alot better just because lighting someone on fire while drilling their face in is totally badass. However, everything else falls short of Bioshock 1.
I'd say bioshock 1.

I skipped number two entirely because of all the bad things I heard from it.
Then how can you say the first is better? I loved Bioshock 2 almost equally.

Don't take it the wrong way, but not buying stuff because you heard "bad things" is kind of retarded.
You could have at least rent it.

They pretty much traded in the scare factor of the first game for MUCH improved gameplay in the sequel. Still definitely worth getting seeing as how you've played the first game.

#1 has a better story
#2 has a better combat system.. and a giant Drill! Fuck yeah!
