The background shouldn't be a factor in your decisions. Since that last post I have come up with two possible ideas for the background (one orange, one blue), so that the characters won't be lost in the background. I scanned a lot of drawings, so (hopefully) I should be uploading them all over the next couple of days.
The color on this was messed up by my scanner a bit. The top left one is an actual picture, not my painting skills.
