I'm not really sure you can say "If you like video games, you'll like this movie" I like Street Fighter, but Street Fighter the Movie? No way. Just because we enjoy one medium doesn't necessarily mean we'll like a crappy film.

I'm going to see it in about 3.5 hours. Hopefully it lives up to my expectations.

It's a completely different situation. Scott Pilgrim is very much a movie about video games; Street Fighter just vaguely lifts some story elements from one. I think you can safely say that people who like video games will like Scott Pilgrim; the audiovisual references sprinkled throughout the film and the whole gamey aesthetic are all great.

I thoroughly enjoyed that movie. I liked the way that, even though they were represented in a surreal way, the conflicts were completely realistic. Honestly, I'm able to say it's the best film I've ever had the pleasure of watching.

yea cause how much money you make totally justifies all.

Anyway my only beef with the movie is that its Cera doing the nerdy akward guy again. Why not scout out someone new, or do all movies with a nerd have to use him. I'm kinda tired of his voice and him in general. Youre paying $15 for essentially the same character you saw in superbad, juno, whatever.

I saw the previews, looks like a good movie with a comic book-ish type thing.

Do people ever think that maybe that character is what best fits in these roles? The nerdy cera character is loveable and cute, and people seem to like it for the most part. Jason Stantham, Sly, and a shit load of other actors also play one role throughout all of their movies..and somehow still have a following. TypeCasting has been happening since the early years of media, and it's not going away. If you don't like Cera's character, don't watch his films. It's a taste thing, you know?

Some of the movies Michael Cera in are good but it's always the same kind of concept so it's like a rerun every time a new movie that he stars in comes out. Doubt i'll even take the time to see this new one even though people think it is good.

What are you even talking about?

Juno - girl gets pregnant and struggles with the idea of having a child or giving it away
SuperBad - boy tries hard to get laid and party
SP vs TW - boy fights hoards of ex boyfriends to prove to a girl that he cares enough about her to deal with her issues

i totally see the similarities.

Has anyone read the comic books, I read the samples on the official Scott Pilgrim website and they copied the entire comic books and pasted it into the script. Except for book 2, because half that book was flashback to when Scott was younger.

This is probably the most range Cera has showed as an actor, as his character at times is sort of a dick, and also obviously a badass a lot of the time too. But if you're gonna be on the Cera hatred bandwagon, then yes, obviously you're going to pick out the parts of this movie too where Cera has his signature "Oh look how awkward I am" moments.

Besides all that though, this shouldn't be about "I DON'T LIKE THAT ACTOR!," the MOVIE is good, regardless. If you're not going to see it solely because you don't like one actor, that's your call, but you're definitely missing out on a great experience, because I thought this was a fantastic movie.

Also, even though an actor can mainly play the same role, it can still differ from film to film, and sometimes there's that one where they're basically still the same, but the movie itself makes it so much better. Example: Jason Statham in Crank.

I'm with you brother.

I don't understand why people think he's a good actor. He can't act to save his life. He is the same person in every single fucking movie he's in.

they stayed pretty true to the comic, but they left out alot of stuff when the end near. that might be becuase of time restraints, or becuase the last comic came out in july, but whatever the reason, it was a good movie and a good comic

I read the entire serie in 1 night, and its awesome. But hey, Adultswim did an animated version of the scene that didn't made it to the movie.

Damm, seeing their animation, I almost which they could do an animated serie or the movie... I liked the art style.

Do it. It is one of my favorite movies of 2010, only beaten by Inception. I loved this movie so much.

I understand that everybody here won't like the film or the actors in said film, but i felt the need to defend Cera in this situation because although he has fairly low range, he does what is within his range exceedingly well. I am not trying to attack you, just trying to debate with you on a friendly level. Sorry if i came off as a dick, that's not what i am trying to do here.

A whole lot of people hate actors because they play the same part as an actor. A whole lot of people like musicians because they normally produce the same type of music. What the fuck?

no problem! Though i wonder if he actually ever gets bored of those scripts. Like i can just picture his scripts for most of his movies its a big book of blank pages. On the first page its 'just be you'

After I left that theater, I wanted to do three things. First, I wanted to see a sequel; second, I wanted to fight a mother fucker kung fu style; and finally, I wanted to bang a Canadian chick (even though most of the most attractive females in that movie were portrayed by American actresses), so yeah, good shit.

The most enjoyable aspect of the movie for me was the music. This movie rocks and i'd say go over the expendables or the other guys!!

You'll be pleasantly surprised!
