Scott Pilgrim is in love with Ramona Flowers.
There's just one problem...
He must defeat her seven evil exes ... Fight radical enemies ... Rock out with 4 player Co-op (as either Scott, Steven Stills, Ramona, or Kim from) ... Experience epic battles...
To win Ramona's heart!!!
Finally released, costs 10.00 USD and from my point of view (since I didn't pay for it, a friend did, XD) it was SO bloody worth it. A great movie-licensed game with *spoiler not really* a slightly altered, but gut-busting ending apparently. I haven't seen the movie nor read the comic book (but I am in the process of doing the latter) and the game was so epic, it almost makes (sorry Tom :p) Castle Crashers look like a beta! 4-player co-op, epic boss battles, pretty good difficulty, hilarity, animation by Paul Roberston (seriously, look him up), great scenes, fun for the whole beat'em up crowd. And for once, reading the ORIGINAL after playing the game isn't so bad, in fact, the game perks you up for the comic book (I'm on Volume 2) and I'm definitely going to see the film.
The only thing missing is drop-out play and online, but on the latter one of the game's features would make having a "random friend or acquaintance" drop in and steal something from you extremely disconcerting. $10 for all it's worth, probably pretty long if you don't 2x BA your way through like me and my friend did (unfortunately), and a glorious storyline that will leave you reeling for more. If you liked Double Dragon, River City Ransom, Streets Of Rage, No More Heroes, Megaman, Sonic, Mario, TMNT, and almost all of the remaining slew of beat'em ups and games from out of the 80s-90s, there is a reference or four in the game for you!
Another thing: has anyone figured out how to unlock Boss Rush mode yet? Or how to unlock the remaining secret characters?
I would punch him in the face.
im thinking of buying it..depending if i get some ms points..

Buy battleblock, get a job. And now I'm going to fix the middle east.

Other M can suck it; this is the big buy of August!
There is no Mercy, only DoDonPachi
I downloaded the demo a few days ago, it's actually pretty awesome. I'll download it as soon as I can get some money on my PSN account. Unfortunatly nowhere in town has any PSN cards in stock, so I'm going to have to wait awhile to download it.
sounds boring
The graphics suck, the main kid looks like a full of himself douche and there is no fuckin guns

You're comaring a game made for Xbox Live Arcade from a comic book to a sci-fi action game that you buy on the disc?
HOW FREAKING LOGICAL
The guy who did the artwork was the one who made those two Tankmen at the bottom section.

Really?
In other news, my dad disapproves the purchase of Scott Pilgrim Vs The World despite the fact that it costs way more to play AND have a shot at clearing a typical arcade beat-em-up.

1. This better be for PC.

I'm not a PC elitist!
I just can't download games to my Xbox 360 (or whatever platform it's on) because I don't have a broadband connection.

Oh, my apologies. I can understand what you mean. Unfortunately, I'm thinking this is console only. Perhaps you can take your 360 to a friend's place who has broadband?

Okay let me put it this way: Either get Streets of Rage with a bajillion video game references and sweet graphics or Samus going Ninja Gaiden. For ME, PERSONALLY, I will go for the old school.
There is no Mercy, only DoDonPachi
This game is awesome. Beat it 3 times completely already, there's plenty of old school parodies.
There's also cheat codes and such like blood mode from MK1, and Zombie Survival mode, etc..
It's a good game, the only bad thing about it is not having online co-op.

Hopefully a patch will fix that.

Right now though, they need to fix something else first. You can "lend" your partner money because you both need to buy stat-boosts , but when you're on the item screen your partners can take the money freely. If you got stuck with some idiot via open online, or if you're friend decides to be a douche, then it could really screw you over if they take your cash, leave, disconnect, or quit or keep it for themselves since the PS3 version and 360 version most likely have single-save cells and not shared surpluses. At least if you're with 4 others you can hit them for being stupid.
And there's no "drop out" play but there's a fair amount of checkpoints. A game for 10USB (or however many Microsoft points) is as good as it gets, and this game was pretty darn good.
If you want to get Other M, go for it. The thread wasn't related to that anyway, you came here because you wanted to read about a downloadable movie-licensed game that was actually GOOD right? Not a console game that's part of an already best-selling series?
I would punch him in the face.
Seems interesting, i may get it

There are no checkpoints. What the hell are you talking about, again? Also, USD*

This game wasn't based on the movie license, but the comics itself really.
Also there needs to be some patch on the way.
Freezing, missing BGM, trophies not unlocking, infinite loading, boss glitching, enemies disappearing, no drop-in gameplay, no online co-op?
Too many issues now that I realize it, but I've beaten this game 4 times already and I'm satisfied.

THat's just because it's based on a comic book.
I bought the game on the 10th for my PS3, very awesome game, next 2 days after buying it; that was the only game I played. By the way the ending to the game is different than the comic, so if you wanna read them you won't get any spoilers except for knowing the evil exes.
I got Scott to level 16 (the highest level),
got all his 4 stats too 100,
unlocked a secret character, bummer he is only a striker though
and beat the game
