Let him be. If it gets too akward at times, kindly inform him so. You liked him before, his personality is likely the same, even if he's trying to put something else in front of a it. A true friend would be willing to look past it.

I'm not saying you should go to a convention with him, if it's his thing and not yours. If he wants to wear his suit around you, tell him you'd rather not be around him when he's in it, unless it's for something silly, like halloween or pranking, or whatever.

If he doesn't understand, or whines at you and tries to act like you're not being fair, or not being a good friend or whatever, then I guess he's not willing to accept the differences between the both of you, something good friends should do. Be the better man in that case.

At least there's a couple of us who still think straight. I mean I like to think of myself as a pretty tolerant person. I was raised in a conservative family and completely oppose their views.
