Nice movie.
I'm a clothespin Bush supporter.
I have no problem with the deportation of illegals and monitoring of visa applicants' stat. I feel there is a reason tohave suspicion of someone who is here on a student visa yet not attending courses.
But, I am against all of the provisions that that curtail personal liberty in the name of security. E-mail tapping, sneak and peak searches, wherein the government can search, then not inform you of that search until 60 days after, etc. are a travesty to the Constitution.
"Live free or die."
"Give me liberty or give me death."
So often times it happens, that we live our lives in chains, and we never even know we had the key...

Looks like democrat funded fearmongering.

I'm anti-Bush and I wanna respond, dammit! It's so true. What's the point of being completely safe from terrorism if we aren't free either?

I hate to interject, but freedoms are hard to enjoy if you're scared of dying and/or dead.
Then again, that is a rather weak arguement to take away personal freedoms.

Certainly.
I liked the movie, I thought the looping sound was a little annoying.

how can you say that that was fearmongering. fearmongering is a type of political scare tactic that bends a fact or quote in the most strategic way possible. Like when bush said "God is on our side" and a bunch of people compared him to hitler. But this was just pure, honest truth. There is a line between freedom and security, and when either side gains ground, the other loses it. You have to choose whether you want to give up your right to privacy or not in order to make the country "safer". Personally, i'd rather take my chances and at least get to experience the kind of freedom jefferson had in mind.

If your some pro bush guy, I believe in free speech and wont bitch at you or anything so in return dont flame me or anything. Go ahead and disagree, maturly.
How can someone honestly believe terrorists hate freedom? Even before 9/11, citizens in canada were much more free than people in the USA, you dont see canada being suicide bombed.
This whole freedom scapegoating thing has 'propaganda' written all over it. Who's bush to claim he's fighting for freedom while he runs a country that ranks low in civil freedoms among other democratic countries?
Bush is moving to ban gays from being married and his party is trying to illegalise MASTURBATION for christ sake. Thats last one probably wont go through but in time things like this could be happening all the time.
Terrorists of all kinds may be heartless, but they cant hate freedom, in their eyes, they see themselves as fighting FOR freedom or agenst something they see as evil.
If anything, bin laiden was against isreali's opressing the palastinians. He fought for something, but just like hitler, they both did bad things that didnt help anyone out. No side of the fight is really innocent. A network of suicidal terrorists are no different from a brutal army.
Many more innocent people were killed in the USA's iraq war than on 9/11. Iraq didnt even have anything to do with bin laiden or terrorists, they hated each other. Bush and Sharon have much more blood on their hands than bin laiden.
At least that movie gets people thinking outside of what they're normally told. I didnt find the music annoying at all by the way.

I think that flash was extremely well done (though the music was damn annoying). It gave a very accurate view of the situation that we as Americans now face. I thought that it was extremely fitting that the "suspension of the bill of rights" blocked the light of the torch.

I'm not afraid to die. I look at it like this: If I fear death every day, I can't enjoy life.
Most of the post-9/11 'security' bestowed upon me doesn't agree with my sensibility. I'm not going to fear death either way, so why not cut the goddamn red tape that lady liberty wears like a beaten and abused masochist?

So an internet flash cartoon made by Kerry's followers, designed to scare people into thinking that if they don't vote for Kerry their rights will be taken away from them isn't a form of fearmongering? Your telling me it's just political propaganda (and therefore probably full of bullshit)?
Personally, i'd rather take my chances and at least get to experience the kind of freedom jefferson had in mind.
Why do you think they called it a Declaration of Independance? They were declaring that they no longer were under any obligation to abide by the King's rule, that was a major part of the freedom they fought for, and you still have it today.

However valid you points may have been, YOU HAVE BLATANTLY ADMITTED INTO FALLING INTO THE IDIOT TRAP.
The Illegalize Masturbation thread is 100% fake. There is no law. It is purely a test to see how many people are dumb enough to believe this sarcasm. If you think any part of that thread is true, any opinion you may have is rendered obsolete.

Well.... you do live in a democracy, and there are people who would give up freedom for security.
It's not a smart move, but that's democracy for you.

They may not outright endorse any one particular candidate, but the cartoon speaks volumes about who their favorite is.

Not really. Kerry voted for the patriot act and has(had) supported much of the war on terrorism until it became fashionable not to. I didn't have my sound turned on when I watched it, so correct me if I'm wrong, but it could just of easily been critising Kerry.
