This was a pixel character I came up with for a project but then decide that animating it was better. I plan to make spritesheed our of him and possibly a few more characters. Here's what I have so far for him. It's not much but it's a start.

Although, on the "Idle" pose, the shadow being cast from the mushrooms...cap thingy doesn't look right to me.
And, I know the hop wasn't done, but it would look really good if you added more inbetweens. (IDK if you were going to or not lol)
All and all looks like a cool enemy/character :D

No matter what, a mushroom will always look like a penis. Immature kids will alway snicker under their breaths about it. Like me.
To make it look less like a penis, you'll have to edit the mushroom top. You could make it more like a half circle and less like a goomba, but it'll lose its original design. You can also make the mushroom top much bigger, but again, lose some of the original design. There's not much you can do D:
Well thanks, I'll leave it like that for now, I'm not really up for losing design and originality over well penis lookalikezation (hehe). I'm working on some new things like a new idle ala Street Fighter and actually adding the in-bewteens to the jump.
I worked a little more on the mushroom. I got a small hop for the idle but I really don't know how to make the street fighter bounce thing on it but I'll keep trying. I also worked on the jump, pretty much a total redesign for that and I think I got that done. Next I'll get a few more movements on it and hopefully by tomorrow start cleaning up, I hope you like it . Enjoy.

I like how the dying one is coming out.
It will be nicer to see them finished, hard to focus on wire frames.
Thanks, I'm glad you're liking them. I also think that the dying one is coming out nice. My favorite ones have to be the dying and running/jumping ones. Tomorrow I'll start cleaning them up and hopefully finish a few of them and start on some other enemy.

Forgot to say I messed around with the HUD.
Explain. If it's more penis stuff. I really don't care. I just want to get this finished so I can move over to something else.
Started the cleaning up for the jump/run+ I lowered the fps, it was running at 24 fps now it's at 30. It should look better now. Hope you like it. I don't know what I did to the iddle but I kinda like it.

For idle I'd really just make him stand upstraight.
Right now it looks like he jumps, which is a bad thing in my opinion because it makes two actions look alike. Just make him stand there blinking his eyes to show he's alive.
Also, I'd make a new "action" for running, because if you use jump as running, the weight won't be correct. In order for his body to move forward, he has to push his weightpoint forward as he jumps

Adding some lightning on the HP and mana bars will give them depth.

Thanks for the link although, I tried out the animation on a flash game engine and since the animation is moving rather fast, it looks like he actually takes that moves forward.

The run jump animation is a little lackluster. make it so that the bottom of it acts like a foot, and moves forward, puts its head in front of its foot, and repeats.
I'm not good at wording this so I made a quick animation for you. I picked the animations that I think need the most attention.
HERE!
1. The jump seems to lack power. The character doesn't have any actual limbs so it should really use the whole body to push itself off the ground. Even simple mushrooms like that can have many 'poses'. Try not to make the character too stiff.
2. The problem with the Magic animation is that it's not "3D". If the cap lifts of tilts, you should be able to see the under the cap. I was also wondering why not use the mouth since it seems to have one :D
While practicing animation it never hurts to practice drawing too. That way your characters don't end up looking like male genitalia :)

I've fallen in love with the new HUD. Hope you like it. I still haven't added the text to inside the bars but it's pretty much finished, gotta work on the animations and the actual character now.
I finally went back to the mushroom, hopefully I fixed the penis-like problem. The animations are there but I just want you to focus on the mushroom standing. I just made the cap rounder on the side, hopefully that fixed the problem. If not, I'll have to go rounder on top but If I do I'll lost almost all of it's design.

It's been a very long time since I actually animated something but this time I'm trying my best to animate actual movies. In an effort to do this I've joined a collaboration. It's due January but I wanted to start working on it as soon as possible, and here's what I have so far, all cinematics and all is very rough but this is are pretty much the crucial scenes. I'll try to update almost everyday starting Tuesday but for now I hope you like it, I would welcome any and all feedback.

The stilt in the idle pose should move too, it'll look more organic this way. Also I'd add at least 1 set of inbetweens (But as already said you were probably going to do that anyway).
