New Api

could anyone please help me with this new API? i don't want to bother psycho again...the thing is, since they chaged the way you use it, i've been getting F'ed in the A....i'm getting an error when i test the movie and the page they said to go to if you get an error (http://www.newgrounds.com/wiki) is NOT helpful....at all!

i'm really frustrated and i don't see why they had to change things, but if anyone could please help me out with this effing error, i would appreciate it

What seems to be your problem exactly?

Also, if we're talking about the NG Flash API (Which I think we are), you should try asking in the Flash Forum.

explain exactly what you did

did you get the ID code and the other key under the parameters of the connection object?

sorry about the long response time....anyway, yea i filled out the id & encryption key just like it said...the api was on the very first frame...then i tested the movie and i got this back:

Could not contact the API Gateway

and on the page with the instructions, it says that if you get an error, go to that wiki link....and it doesn't help...also there are some broken links in that particular sub folder

Try not to fill out the id & encyption key through actionscript, just go on the properties panel on the API connector.

All I can say is make sure the .fla file is COMPLETELY the same as the .swf file on newgrounds. Besides that, it seems like you may have made a dumb mistake somewhere.
