He's actually right and wrong at the same time. On one hand what the soviets called communism wasn't even close to what Marx had come up with so it isn't communism in that sense. On the other hand, most of the world considers the former soviet union's and the current people's 'republic' of china's form of government true communism. (This is based off the fact that the combined population of the former soviet union and today's china would exceed four billion.) Considering that definitions can change, who's to say that Russian communism isn't the true form?

A good friend of mine is Russian, or at least his parents are.
He left Russia for Britain for that whole "in search of a better life thing", which I suppose sort of worked out. At any rate, no problem with the Russians, are the Soviets, even if they're not really the same thing anymore.
