God of War the movie has the potential to be the most epic movie of the year. All Greek mythological movies in the past have been well recieved. Why not the story of Kratos?

Two examples: Super Mario Bros. and Street Fighter movies respectively. Hollywood has a bad track record with this kind of thing; for every Prince of Persia there's a Double Dragon and Bloodrayne. Besides the GoW games had YOU play out the scenes as well as watch them, so why dole out $10 to see something you've done/seen before.

I think it should, the games have got a story pretty much built to be turned into a movie, epic adventures an interesting though kinda unlikeable lead man, though if they try to make Kratos more likeable it would ruin the fact that he's consumed with rage and a selfish dick which is why I like Kratos. Its got massive battles with horriffying monsters. so long as they don't go all PG-13 (which they wouldn't do) it could potentially make an awesome movie/ series of movies.

Some of the games that were turned into movies weren't that good. You know like, Hitman, Mortal Kombat (although they're making what looks like a totally far out remake), Street Fighter and Super Mario Bros. Although that last one did give me a few chuckles =D
I'm not saying that I don't want a God of War movie, but let's face it, most game movies weren't that good. Meh, let's just wait for the Warcraft movie to come out, and if it's not bad. FUCK YEAH God of War MOVIE! haha

Simple, you may see that GoW is sth interesting to be a movie, but take a closer look and think what the filmmakers will do. They'll make a movie that is made to 17 year-old retards that think that the greatest movie EWAH is 'blood, nudity and BLOOD', they'll do that for, of course, the money. And not something artistic or complex.
If it was made into a movie, It would be a pretty fucked up movie. And I hope they get a REALLY good cast if they want good reception. I'm not saying no, but I'm not saying yes either.
I don't mean to burst your bubble, but there is a good history of movies based on video games sucking, a LOT.

Same here, but it will probably be a bomb. If you look at all other video game movies (Doom,Street Fighter, Super Mario Bros.) they all have had bad reception. I dont think that GOW will be any different. Besides, if the movie fails, then it will put back the production of a sequel (if there having a sequel) by quite a while.
