I'd never heard of this but it's a great idea. I'd like to see them put some more challenging categories in there for maybe more rice. Having said that the chemical symbols one had me searching my brain for memories of high school science and I got 630 grains of rice for somebody. Don't judge, it's late here.

Forgot to make an account last night so those grains weren't saved so I had some catching up to do. Well I've spent a while quizzing away now and got 3,520 grains for the needy. Let's feel the love guys and maybe even learn something. Better then some of the quizzes we get in the flash portal.

Already made some good progress since August 2013. I'd also like to contribute some other websites that are similar to Free Rice:
http://greatergood.com/
http://www.bhookh.com/index.php
http://www.ecologyfund.com/ecology/_ecology.html
Thanks for the links and for joining the crew. It's always better to get more people involved.
I'm now up to 12,570 grains. Just keeping you guys updated.
How's everybody else doing?

If my internet connection is good and I'm putting my mind to it, I can get 25,000 grains an hour. That should be able to feed an adult for a whole day and still have leftovers.
Wow! That is some impressive stuff. I can't imagine that I will get anywhere near that as I'm logging on when I'm finding myself with nothing to do, so I'm getting the odd thousand grains here or there. It's all going to a good course though so every little helps.
Maybe this club should have a roster like The Elite Guard Barracks so we can keep track of members and how much they have accumulated. I believe It will encourage people to get more grains and also gives us an update to post monthly (or however often).

We have a group on the actual website that functions a bit like that, but it's possible to make one on this site as well.

What is the name of the group? I would like to join. Also I think it would be a good idea to post a NG roster and just include the active users (for example boot those off it that haven't made any progress in 6 months). I'm willing to manage the roster if you so wish.

Since we are still a small group, I'll update biweekly every Sunday.
I'd say it makes more sense to update it monthly, say every 1st for example. I don't think this group merits a biweekly roster with these numbers. Also, I noted that on the group it says I don't have anywhere near the grains that it says on my profile so get the stats from peoples profiles.

Ah i remember this, I visited this site a few times in high school. Never really enjoyed it though, mainly cuz I was too lazy to answer questions

Did you change your mind? Are you up for answering questions now?

No, this thread just reminded me that this site still exists is all. I still have no intention to go visit it

Shame.

I was wondering, how is it you donate so much so quickly?

That is pretty impressive. I keep forgetting to get some more rice. Think I'll go and identify some countries from the map now, can never get Latvia and Lithuania the right way around.

Do you mean like a total monthly gain for the group? I was thinking about that too.
Also, we need more members~~
I agree.

Just add all the gain up from the list, it'd only take a second. I never remember to use the group account.

Now THAT'S impressive!
That is a huge amount of rice.
Thanks acid, that's a pretty awesome looking table. But what exactly is the "free rice rank?"
I'm in. Gonna make an effort to answer 420 questions a day.

I remember that site i used to fuck around on it for hours on end for a few months in 2007.
Just passed the 40,000 milestone.
I keep forgetting to find the time for Free Rice.
Every little helps though.

It's great to see that this group has earned more then one million grains now. Having said that, it is also noteworthy that all of the member's individual totals adds up to way more then double that. In my opinion it'd be better if the site just used your actual total when adding up the group's total. Anybody else agree?

Nice work man. How often is this going to be updated? Are you also going to add a lifetime total?

If we accomplish something big like 10 million rice or more, we can consider getting Tom to advertise our existence?

Now that I think about it, would probably be better if we hit like, 500 million or something. 10 mill doesn't seem like that big of a deal.
Alright guys, we need to start some campaign to recruit more people. Heinrich and Acid are like 75% of our donations. We can't just sandbag on them forever.
