Gmod help!!!

I do not know how to download files from garry'smod.org! I download them then put them in a file. What am I doing wrong?

You saving them in the right directory?

So, what your saying is, Im saving it in the wrong place? I thought that might have been it, Where do I save them?

Files should be placed in one of two places.
1. The "addons" folder. If the file in the ZIP is just the name of the download (with stuff like "lua" inside it), you put the file in "addons".
2. The "garrysmod" directory. If the ZIP contains the file "addons", it probably should be extracted to the "garrysmod" directory.
To check if files were properly installed, open Extensions while ingame and look for them.

I put it in 'addons' and it still doesn't work. Should I be seeing the other games in the file?
(portal,tf2,etc.)

If the main file inside the ZIP you downloaded is a name (such as AlienSwarmPlayers), and it contains files such as "lua" and "info.txt", it will most likely go into the "addons" folder. The addons folder is located in your "garrysmod\garrysmod" directory.
If there is something called "readme.txt" or something similar, READ IT!

If the main file is something like "garrysmod", then it will go into your "steamapps\*your username*\garrysmod" directory, NOT "steamapps\*your username*\garrysmod\garrysmod".

I am very confused, Eh, I'll just troubleshoot it.

when you download them, open C: then go to program files. There you should find steam and in it steam apps. In there you need to click your steam username file and then the Garry's mod file and another gmod file inside it, afterward click addons and just add the files there.

I'm not sure if that was clear but that's what I do
