art programmes

hi, i tend to doodle in my spare time mainly just cartoons and stuff. ive had a few people comment on how good they are and was thinking i would upload some see what you guys think and mabey get some tips to help develope them.
However i do not have a scanner and dont actually know of anyone with one. So im wondering are there any good programmes available that would allow me to draw on the computer, i know that theres always paint but cant seem to get the same effect i get with a biro.
I have tried taking pictures of them with my web cam, but the quality aint that good, or is there any other way people know of that i can get my drawings up on here.

This should solve all your problems! I'd recommend GIMP, since it's a decent Photoshop knock-off.

Other than taking photos with webcam or some other camera, you can't get your sketches into your computer without a scanner.

sweet i'll try take a look at that

since i dont have a scanner then i might try and see if i can borrow a decent camera off someone, failing that i'll just upload my web can pics.
