Well, IP addresses anyway. There are only 4 billion possible combination with the current set up and at this rate we will run out of IP addresses in less than a year.

I callbullshit on that, I don't see a website named Kanon1.com or other usernames as a website, I believe so long as people can invent a username people can invent a fucking address for a website.

Clearly you didn't click the link and read it. You didn't even take the time to read the original post. Perhaps next time you should read more than just the title.

The internet. I don't think you understand how it works.
Once IPv6 is rolled out, we'll probably never run out. Ever.

I read bits and pieces of it, sue me. Besides I just gave an opinion on what I believe.

No. You just read the topic and assumed it meant internet addresses. Just stop trying to go with it and admit you just didn't take the time to understand the subject at hand. It's no big deal really, a lot of people do it.

That's what I was gonna say. Just throw some extra numbers on there. But it would mean you'd have to recode things and upgrade shit.

I remember this commercial where this guys on his computer and his wife comes in and asks what he is doing. He says he is surfing the web. She walks out and an automated voice comes over the computer saying, "You have completed the internet".
For some reason this thread reminded me of that...

If an ip address is a number and numbers are infinite, how can you run out of something that is infinite?

IPv6 will solve the problem, no worries. My conspiracy theorist teacher is convinced that soon people are going to be assigned an IP address at birth. It would certainly cut down illegal activities if everyone was assigned their own unique address.
