I ate a gelatin made from green stuff extracted from turtles (through boiling).
It's pretty good, especially with syrup.

You could try eating a dog in front of a police officer, that might show you.

I've had dog before in South Korea, the taste isn't that great. Kind of like stringy beef or something.
Dogs are fairly intelligent and emotional animals (some of them) I dislike the idea of eating them.
As for cats, they are so cute and they are better than most animals because they actually enjoy sleeping and pleasure and stuff like that.

I think the best argument is that cats and dogs are domesticated animals and they are not bred to be eaten. Animals are dolphins and whales should never be killed because they are endangered species. There are lots of other reasons such as them containing far too much mercury and (arguably) being intelligent creatures. I honestly wonder how chickens and cows have never managed to be on the endangered species list. With all the chicken around here, I fear the chicken race will be extinct someday.

You can't eat dogs and cats because they're far more intelligent than cows and chickens. If you think you can eat any animal regardless of it's intelligence, then what prohibits cannibalism?

Pretty sure my local chinese restaurant serves cat meat as sweet and sour "pork"...
Racist jokes aside, I do not believe there are laws pertaining to eating cats and dogs, though someone would probably say "animal cruelty" though...
Great now im hungry for some chinese food...

Pigs and dolphins are said to be among the smartest animals on the planet (after us humans of course). Yet we eat pork products all the time and dolphinsare always getting caught in those fishing nets. You've probably eaten a little dolphin already if you eat tuna very often.
Personally, I think it is hypocritical for us to mass consume one type of animal and get all offended when people eat another type of animal (i.e. - Whale Wars and shit). I also think it is funny that we go on and on about animal rights while we run cows along a conveyor belt of the slaughter house. Personally, I think it would be more consistent to just recognize that animals are creatures God put on this earth for our amusement and they don't have rights. I know that isn't the LEGAL reality, but it would be less hypocritical if it were.
