Orchestral Composer Needed

Hey

I am in need of a composer for a Machinima Series I am creating. I am wanting this series to have high quality music. Meaning, I want it to be fairly decent.

The series is called Limited Cognition, the protagonist goes through a lot remembering to attempt at finding out what happend to his father. throughout the whole thing, he is forced in to boot camp and to fight for the military, but then as he finds out that there are illegal actions being forced upon his father, he begins to betray the military, gets in a lot of trouble, and finds out what happends to his father... thats a basic summary, there are a lot more interesting things about the story, but I am trying to dim this message down a bit.

I had a previous composer make the music for this series already, but unfortunately due to business issues with them I cant have another contract with them.

Okay, so I have been with Tranter Films for a while, a group with Machinima.com. I recently have broken off from Tranter Films because of a recommendation to Machinima to create my own studio. It has not yet been made, but its pretty much confirmed that I will be creating my own studio with Machinima.com.

Okay, so on with the series. I have been working on this series for 2 years. But it has not yet been published.. well it actually has been, it has a trailer. So if you decide to take this idea.... I can sew you. XD because of the series's script carefully being written. But I am wanting it to be very good, so I am in search of a composer who can do the following for this series in terms of sound.

"Create Orchestral Music, Create a Basic Theme for the Series, make epic, combat, sad, and spacey type music."

It may be a lot, but that is what I want and to expect.

Now, as for PAY. Yes, I will bepayingyou to compose scores for this series. But keep in mind, this is a LOW budget series. I do most of the visuals and filming myself with professional voice actors offored. I will be making 50 dollars PER EPISODE. Along with the views, but im unsure how much I will make on that. But I will assure you. You can make atleast 15 - 20 dollars per episode we create.

Machinima.com has not started paying monthly yet, but it has been rumored they will. But currently, we get payed every 4 months for how much we do. So you cant expect the money right away, but you will recieve your money, the contract will assure you of this, but there is no time limit to recieve your money, but we can promise you will recieve everything you earned.

Now for legal things, there will be a contract for you to sign and to agree to things, it shouldnt be too hard, it is a very easy and straight forward contract. Only takes up half a page of paper. You will have to physically sign it and send it back to me.

Giving credit to the composer will NOT be a problem at all. CONTACT ME if you are up for the job!

Oddly enough I was hired for this project several months ago. Then I got fired when the OP found someone "better." So be careful signing up for this project. You could do all the work and get the audio finished and the guy posting this is just as likely to say he's found someone better and doesn't want your help anymore.

Oddly enough the OP tried to hire me again just today because the guy he thought was "better" than me flaked on him. Figured you guys would want to know this information before offering to write the audio for this project. Not exactly the most reliable person to be working with.

Eh, okay? I got SO many submissions, that I dont think you quite understand. I told you I wanted to choose someone that would best fit to compose the score for this series. I never said they were better than you, the music they did just simply best fits what I wanted. I didn't mean for you to take this personally to actually post this.... But obviously I offended you somehow.

Before I chose the other composer I told you I MAY need you in the near future if something goes wrong, so I didnt remove you from skype just in case. And so, you told me the price you will only go with, and unfortunately in my case, that is a high budget price. Really I am sorry if I offended you.

I don't know what I did, but just because I can't pay you that much, and I found another composer who best fits the series, doesnt mean I said your not as good as them, I think your work is great. :)

Thats fine... Really, I think his work is great. When I saw gravey's work at first I was amazed, it was the closest I was going to get with this project. But I was also blown away by a person who isnt superior to him, but the type of music they produced was a bit more closer to what I wanted. Not the type of skill they have, but the type of tone they add to there music. I was going to choose Gravey until I met them, but now I cant get a contract renewal with them so I came back like I said before. But unfortunately they cant renew a contract with me because of them being too busy making music for someone else.

Really, I was blown away with many submissions.... And... To be honest this series is my baby... literally, I care a lot about it and I want it to be big... But Gravey, you really arent helping... :(

I understand its not too much money, but im just looking for someone who will be willing too work with my budget. Hell, my composer was mentioned on G4 so its hard for me to decide... I am sorry if I offended you dude I really am.

Sounds like a miscommunication. It happens.

If you really are having trouble finding someone, I would be available, but I will not be able to invest as much time into it as I would a fully paying audio job. Details otherwise we can discuss via PM.

I'll consider it but... Very unlikely. Twenty dollars doesn't go very far and my ego would lead me to believe my musical ability is worth just a tad more. As egotistical as that sounds and self centered I also believe many of the artists here are worth much more then 20 dollars including gravey and probably everyone else who wrote/will write in this thread.

Yes I understand, I would provide more if I could, but unfortunately Machinima.com is mainly for film makers getting started in film making. They arent a big time company and don't provide enough cash... So yes I know its unfortunate, but you must admit some people on here ask for a composer for free. But I am low on cash for this series.... which is why I consider this low budget =\ 15 - 20 dollars isnt all you would make though, depending on the views, you can make 20 more. depending on how many views it gets. I know a lot of people here deserve MUCH more. But im here asking if anybody is willing to work with my budget.

Especially considering you wont be making music for me every day or every week. Its more like after 2 months that I ask for music. So it wouldnt be that often. But yes, I know a lot of people deserve much more. Unfortunately though, I cannot provide that... Thanks though!

I think I would be interested. I don't have a lot of actual scoring work up on NG, but I have a number of standalone pieces, and you are welcome to look into them. I won't be able to turn out a whole lot at first, but I'll be more available once the summer ends.

We are the composers that have been working with Rob.

In defense of Rob, he is good to work with, never had a problem.

Our contract with Tranter Films(which includes other directors besides Rob) came up for renewal and because of time constraints with TV placements and other producing we don't have the time anymore to create custom scores.

I'm sorry that Gravey is butt hurt, but Rob is a trustworthy guy and produces quality stuff in the genre he is in. I know he personally isn't offering a lot of money to you guys, but take into consideration the added exposure that having your music on Machinima can do for you. It may not be worth it to a lot of people, but there are composers that would enjoy this.

Okay guys, I chose a client already. I am confident with him and I think he will do very well for my series, and I thank everybody else who was willing to work with me! Thank you all very much, I appreciate your kindness for helping me with this project with not so good of income lol. But decent In some cases.

I will continue to leave this thread to my friends and other directors so they may be able to contact you for a composer! So you still have a chance if you are wanting to work for someone!
