I like that weapon very cool looking. Just got one thing to say about it. You have some shading in the on blade but only one part of it. Shouldn't there be some shading on the sharp part of the right side of the blade. Also what about the shading of the finger guard?
What does it say on the sword I wantz to know? :D

Ohh the shading my bigest enemy. ^^ The shading i have in the blade are left overs from the try to shade it correkt. (This try was a epic fail).
And the text on the Blade say: Virtus Junxit Mors Non Separabit
this means : Whom virtue unites, death will not separate.

A lot of people have trouble with shading - but it's a great skill to learn, and I'd advise you work on that. The sword itself looks lackluster in detail, but you've got the looking at other people's swords is a great way to improve your own - getting the overall gist of drawing them can do wonders.
Otherwise, a little blank for a first post, but keep at it ;)

Thanks for the indulgent criticism.
I will try harder to improve my shading skill and too add more details.
And thanks again for the link, I will study more swords from other people's.

I'am not fan of words of course.

so far others have covered that needs to be adjusted.
It's a pretty solid piece over all, much better than some of my first attempts
So yeah try to get some shading on there. it looks like you started wit the blood groove, now just to work on the rest

Thanks for the compliment.
I'am working a bit on the shading.
Opinions please. =)
Rework done.
Shading done.
Cross-Guard failed.
Any suggestions for the Cross-Guard?
Any suggestions to improve the shading?

I the the cross guard is alright. Sometimes their is a beauty to the simplicity of things. I guess if nothing else it can serve as a mundane item rather than some sort of special one.
As for the shading, I guess the best approach would be to go at it like any thing else. Place an imaginary light source and just go to town on the bastard. You have a start at that, but I think you should pull the shadows a little deeper to add some more feel of weight to the sword.
Also, I noticed a thinner line thickness, although I think it is better than the super think you had at the start I think you could stand to bump it up a little more at least on the outer edges....
All this sword talk is making me want to do another one of my own....

remove the lineart and if it still looks like a sword and not a blob of shit you're not a fuckin faggot

Sorry this is not my opinion.

I'am also a fan of simplicity but something looks wrong.

Jeah I try but it fucking hard work whitout any good filters or layer effects.

Hmm this will be some work. Or hmm I will see.

^^
Actually without the lines I think it looks better, but that handle could use some work now.

I guess he didn't want you to remove the line-art finally. It's just a test, when you remove the lines and it still looks good, you have done a good job.
But that doesn't mean that there's no room for improvement anymore. I agree with what Kinsei said. The shading ain't bad, but a little more looks probably better. Especially the lower part could benefit from that.
Still I like it, looks like a solid sword, good for a beheading or two. ;)
If your going for a cartoonish look AND a badass look, you did quite well.
I hope you don't mind me posting this here.
I did say I that all this talk making me to want to do another.
It's not as realistic based as yours but I still had some fun.
