The NG user, EclecticEnnui has a very open mind when it comes to movies and has positive things to say about most of the stuff he sees. He even liked Mulholland Drive (fuck that movie). But even he couldn't sit through the whole thing. He said he went to see it in the theater and walked out without seeing the whole thing. So, that gives me the impression that it must be quite a chore to sit through it, but I'm still curious about it.

The movie was pretty much made to be seen while tripping. It's a like a crazy light show with some story added in. Although it's great while high, I imagine that it would be really hard to sit through sober.

Any answer that isn't Begotten is wrong

Maybe Machine Gun Girl in terms of being goofy

But no movie matches Begotten in terms of abnormality and experimentation

Well, I guess I'll get high if I watch Enter the Void, then.

I haven't seen it, but I bet Gozu at least comes close. Also, I never managed to finish Machine Girl, but it was pretty bad in a good way, if you know what I mean. I was amused. There's another one that I believe is either made by the same people or under the same studio called Tokyo Gore Police that has the same spirit. I didn't finish watching that one either, though.

2001: A Space Odyssey was a pretty weird but good movie in my opinion, especially near the end of it.

Got to love Kubrick, though.

Mine is either Eraserhead or A Serbian Film. Eraserhead probably wins for weirdest, because at least A Serbian Film had a plot.

This Italian B movie called Cemetery Man. A few years ago it was like 4 in the morning and I was flipping through the movie channels and this was on. I read the description and it seemed interesting. After watching it I realized why it was on at 4am. It's very entertaining from what I remember but it does get weird. For anyone who is interested here is the trailer. I think Youtube also has the full movie, whether or not it is in English is another thing, I couldn't be bothered to check.

I saw this one film, I think it might have been from Portugal in 1975. It was about these aliens & was very strange. Few of you might know what I'm talking about.

Spirited Away was a 'good' weird film.

I love that movie. Miyazaki has never made a bad movie. Howl's Moving Castle was his worst, and even that one was good.

Everyone is listing off surreal or foreign films and simply dismissing them as "weird". It's an incredibly shallow adjective to describe a film.

Movies that make you think shouldn't be considered weird, but apparently that's what you all believe.

good point. I guess you're right. I love movies that are "weird" or trippy or rich in visuals.

I forget the name of it, but the movie is basically this:

Little girl seeks out child molester/killer, tortures him (in strange ways) to confess, and then convinces him to commit suicide.

Anyone know the name?
