Today I went to the doctor found out I have chicken pox. Now I have to miss a week of work and about 350 dollars goes down the drain. I've never gotten chicken pox before, and I'm 16. When did you guys get it?

I got it when i was 5, and I had it for 2 weeks. i know a guy who got it a few months ago (he's 16 as well) and he said he felt like dying for the whole month he had it. he has a few scars from the pox on his face, but they're not as bad as acne scars could ever be.
he wasn't nauseated, however

Or you don't get it until later and it immediately evolved into Shingles. and thats when your back gets all blistered in weird patterns and flakes off. No I'm not kidding.

I got it when I was like 12 and I was miserable, I totally feel your pain.
My grandpa had never had it, and my grandparents were raising me when I had it, so he got it at like 70.
He was ok, but pissed he'd made it that long and then got it anyway.

I had it when I was about 5-6. I was old enough to remember it and be annoyed that I couldn't do anything or scratch the bumps. I've also had poison ivy two times and it's just as annoying. Any sort of skin rash spreads insanely fast and stays around forever for me. It's one of the main reasons I wish I could tear my skin off and buy some new skin.

I had to catch it when I was a kid by playing with some other kid who had it for a day, I got it and haven't had it since, I was told that if I got it when I was an adult there would be a chance I'd die.
