Should I really return to WoW (I'd like to, I miss it)?
What new things/addons have been added to the game since last year?
If you want to, then do so.
It's not up to NewGrounds to make your decisions.

NO dont be a nerd. If you go back to world of warcraft then you will have no life. That game sucks.
Go for it, I actually just rebought WoW yesterday, I haven't played in years myself. And I've got nothing better to do in my spare time anymore, I'm too pissed off at any FPS game *Cough* Modern warfare 2 *Cough*
Oh yeah ofcourse, waste 15 bucks a month!

How much do you want to bet that this kid has never played WoW before in his life?

Let's do this.
"Sir, we are surrounded!"
"Excellent, we can attack in any direction!"
Honestly, i'd wait until the Cataclysm expansion releases. It's a lull period in the game where everyone is getting bored of the content and just waiting on the expasion.
That's my advice, but ultimately you should only do it if you find it fun.
I'd say don't. I quit back in January after they started to add in all the items for real money. I used to raid 4 days a week and the instances become so boring that you end up really only playing for the fun interaction with guild mates. From what I've read, addons have now completely removed thought and challenge from the boss fights(they now can add big bright colored circles in safe/dangerous areas on the ground), and the PvP is still garbage.
If you haven't even played in this expansion then the content should keep you occupied for a month or two.

Well to be honest I never have played World of Warcraft in my entire life so I don't know if it is addictive or not I have however heard many contradicting things about it.
Good Things:
1.Fun
2.Lots of Customization
3.Addictive
4.Good for Wasting Time
Bad Things:
1.Gets Boring Quickly
2.Low Level Cap
3.Your Race Decides your Alignment (Dwarves have to bo good etc)
4.Costs Money to Play
Those are just a few things that I have heard however I don't think it is our decision if you want to spend 15 dollars a month for an online game that is apparently quite fun and, addictive.

I find this superb in WoW games. Yes, your race determines your fraction. So as a dwarf, you can't go and team up with an orc or anything. And yes, races tend to have some philosophy.
But I feel that playing for the Horde kind of relativates the concept of evil. It shows that for everything they do they have a reason, a justification and each race has some way of doing honourable deeds. It's not just "Hurr, I'm an orc and I want to kill all human" They have strategies and codes they uphold. Also, there are humans and dwarfs and gnomes who tend to be evil or bent on the destruction of Horde creatures. The world of warcraft is much more complex than just a struggle between good Alliance and evil Horde.
There has changed a few noticable things, yes. I think they added a few quests, and now maps show you where you can find your objectives, so you don't have to wander aimlessly. Dungeons have become more smooth. I remember when I started about a year ago, I could rarely enter instances because they refused to let me and I had to try again later. They finally got to solving that, I think.

I recently canceled my subscriptions because it has gotten stagnant and I haven't even been playing 'seriously' for much over a year. This is the last big content patch of this expansion and it's only a couple months before all of my high-end gear becomes nothing more than cosmetic bank fodder. It also may be due to the fact that my server is lopsided in terms of active Alliance:Horde and I constantly run into world PVP dramatically outnumbered (which occasionally makes it that much more fun, I have to admit) or it may be due to the fact that I'm unable to find groups capable or willing to progress further in raids than their regular 10/25 modes.
But enough about me. Considering the timing I wouldn't necessarily recommend resubscribing, if you already have a decent geared 80 or two just wait until pre-expansion content starts being added and jump back in for the fun. It's the only time you'll see something like it and like the events before Burning Crusade and WotLK it will undoubtedly be removed after a little while.

I think the most dramatic change is the cross-realm (battlegroup wide) dungeon grouping tool. It's not just for heroic dungeons either, however daily dungeons are handled by entirely by queuing as your desired role with any number of people (less than five, anyway) so you'll likely never see "LFG heroic daily" again. But, in place of that, if you happen to be a tank or plate wearing/druid, you can make a quick 10g or so just selling an 'instant queue' on somebody's heroic daily. There's also a raid grouping tool but that is rarely used in most cases as it's only filter for adding more players to your group is their level and desired role (and this only works within your own realm.)
Pros: You can level an alt purely through dungeons once you hit level 15. The implement of that feature in particular has changed the way the game plays dramatically. You quest while queuing for dungeons maximizing your XP gain and likely getting some nice gear boosts along the way. (Also you may actually get a chance to do all of those horribly long and tedious oldworld dungeons again!) Once you hit 80 heroic dungeon queues become an option and they have their own benefits, for one, you're guaranteed 2 of the latest dungeon badges on completion of the first dungeon for every day you use the tool and since it's introduction the time needed for gearing for alt from greens/blues to raid-ready has diminished from weeks to a couple days (which is considered a con to a few masochists and/or rich bastards.) It's also worth mentioning that if you're not constantly queuing as DPS and you get moderately fast queues you can effectively grind dungeons just for gold, (assuming you don't have a ridiculous repair bill after every run) you make 20g from just using the random heroic dungeon tool in addition to any enchanting materials or vendor trash you pick up along the way.
Cons: Rampant, shameless ninja looters (although the new need/greed/disenchant rolling system largely cuts down on that problem) occasionally you get grouped with very inexperienced players, language barrier when grouped with foreign players in your battlegroup, less than ideal kicking tools for when you immediately need to replace the rare jackass (for attempting to wipe the group, bitching about rolls/rolling on things he doesn't need, etc)
Like I said though, my account's currently canceled despite this wonderful dungeon tool I'm hyping up. If you're curious, try it out. What's one month going to hurt?
No. Go on something else. May I suggest Maplestory?

I say do it. I've been enjoying it but I've been playing pretty casually.

You mean the companion pets and mount that offer no advantages over other players aside from looking pretty? Or the server/race/faction changes?
Blizzard aren't thick enough to sell a combat advantage like an extra spell for real money. Would make many people quit and thus, lose the company subscriptions.
The sense of community is gone. I jumped ship...2 years or so ago? I don't mind playing a few hours with people I know, but making grinding your main goal for a game does not sit well.
Awesome post great job!

What. All of this is horribly wrong.
The items you buy for real money are mini-pets and mounts. They have no direct impact on the game. And the fun interaction of guild mates is part of the POINT of an ONLINE GAME. To be with other people. And addons didn't remove any of the challenge, they don't kill the boss for you, they just light up even more the GIANT VOID ZONES OF BLACK OOZE. It was already obvious enough. And the PvP is really fun, don't know what you're talking about.
But yeah, I'm enjoying playing, I just got my 4th 80 last night and I'm gearing him up now. Well, once the servers pop back on.
