Final fantasy 13

hey everyone i have heard bad reviews of ff13 is it really that bad of a game it looks fun but is it because of the characters or summons or something else o.o if anyone thinks the game is worth buying please tell me ^^

The genre is out of favor with a lot of reviewers, at least in America. They expect RPGs to be open-ended affairs and not linear the way FF13 is. A lot of people don't like the visual design, a lot of people would rather be playing a rehashed FPS with a single player mode that lasts the weekend if you're lucky, and even with the ones who like or tolerate FF, they probably have a soft spot for another game in the series. Of course, this is just ways reviewers could go wrong, not ways they did. I say, try it out for yourself, it looks good enough if you're not anal about open-ended gameplay.

Personal preference.
If you're a die hard fan you'll love it, if you only liked one or two like FF7 or FF8 you'll probably hate it.

The graphics are pretty good but in all honesty, you just have to like that turn based sorta game.

I've played a bit of Final Fantasy in my day. I love how Final Fantasy tries to improve itself and change itself every time they make a new game. Especially the battle system. Which is why I wanna get this game so badly, I really wanna try the battle system.
Plus I love RPGs.

Actually all I have heard are good reviews, The only bad thing I have ever heard is the minor fact that it takes a while to reach the best part of the game. And for once it is not that much turn based but timing based

As a buff for many of the Final Fantasy games, mainly 1 - 12 + most of the American released spin offs. What should I expect from unlucky 13?

The battle system is something terrible, wrapped in terrible, and adorned with terrible. The first....10 hours? A hallway. A god. Damn. Hallway. Go play the remakes on the DS and repent for having such silly thoughts.

If you're a big fan of the series you'll probably like it.
Its easily the worst FF since FF7, apart from FFX.

You must hav me confused with someone else. I liked FF7 and FF9 is my favourite.
