There's this girl, I like her alot I know that much, love maybe slightly... 'strong' right now, we met up once so far and made out a few times, had a laugh and went to the park, you know the usual corny romantic stuff.

But errr, I'm as white as a sheep and she's black... It's cool though I mean, she even makes black jokes occasionally which I find just the idea of it hilarious, but I dunno, it's just that I barely know any black people, since my area is prodominatly white populated.

Which for some reason going out with a black bird seems... 'odd' maybe... as I've said, I've never been rasist, I have a chinease friend and while I do make the occasional race joke but it's not like I do it in an offensive way or actually mean it.

At first I didn't even know if I could be sexually attracted to a black girl, which took me being with her for five seconds to realise I could be...

I feel kinda shitty for having this hesitation, but now I don't even think of it, I mean, I did see the occasional person look at us... I don't care what people think it's just annoying.

Also, my friends are fucking assholes, they won't fucking stop with the race jokes, they're not racist but they use any excuse to rip the shit out of someone and race just has too much fucking material to work with, right now the running gag is that: She only likes me because I'm white and slightly boney, so she think's I'm a chicken wing... Oh yeah, and my nick name is "The Funky Chicken"... This is why I was hesitant, because for some reason it is a big deal I'm dating a black girl...

Really considering just going ape shit at one of them, giving the others a clear stfu.

I do, as a matter of fact. My current girlfriend is black-ish, more like brown (see picture below). But I didn't choose to love her because she is of that race. It just turned out to be the right girl for me.

I live in a country with a big mixture of races, so here that isn't ever an issue. But in your case, I would demand respect to your girlfriend and your relationship from your friends, threatening to end your friendship with them if they can't accept it. They have to understand that this is important and serious to you.

If course, you also have to grow a thicker skin. You shouldn't feel uncomfortable with a little humor, but don't let it come down to disrespect.

Not at all. This is between you and her, and if you truly love each other, there is no reason to be hesitant. Just learn to ignore some things ignorant people might say or do, and you'll be fine.

It's natural to have feelings of hesitation. We live amongst haters, racists, people that don't like the idea of interracial relationships. Anyway, I've been in some awkward relationships with people before. I once dated a girl from England (I'm still with her, lol) and her dad and brother hated me, because I was American. So, they were racist against me, but I don't really care.

As long as the parts fit and you love the other person, it will all work out okay in the end.

I was actually just thinking of that a few days ago. I actually have few black friends or ones that are of another ethnic group. If you truly love a person, then you should be allowed to be with that person no matter what. We live in a modern age where racism is frowned upon by nearly everyone, so we just have to show that we have evolved beyond those notions and have come to embrace the beauty and joy of the world.
