this right here is an amazing book. i finished it yesterday, and was meaning to make a thread about it. it's also a major motion picture, but i wouldn't recommend anyone watch it as i looked it up on IMDB and the cast alone made me want to fucking shoot somebody. so just read the book.

anyway, i'd like to read you a passage from agusten burroghs' amazing memoir, right out of the journal he kept. at age 14.

"Bookman just left. He came down for one of his little visits and this time he fucked me. At least I didn't have to suck on his penis. I hate the way he always forces my head down on it and no matter how much I choke or tell him not to he keeps shoving. So at least that didn't happen. We had the Anal Sex and I didn't like it. I don't like Anal Sex and don't know why people would want to have it. It's another thing about Being Gay that I don't like. I don't like that I'm going to be a hair cutter and this is considered by people to be something that is a "Gay Thing"..."

it goes on, but i mean that's just from his journal when he was younger. the rest of the story is very interesting and ACCORDING TO THE SAN FRANSISCO CRONICLE; "A memoir that is both horrifying and mordantly funny."

if you haven't read this book, go read it.

I saw the movie a couple of years ago and I loved it. The psychiatrist was hilarious, him and his "masturbatorium." I had no idea that it was based on a memoir! I'll definitely have to pick it up sometime.

I'll probably do the same, I mean I've read other memoirs before (Rage against the meshugenah, anyone?) and most of them are really good books. I'll have to go to Barnes & Noble soon and check it out.
