I am working on a project that I am trying to submit to various comic book companies, but many recquire that I submit a few illustrated pages. So I was wondering if I could send to you the first five pages of my comic and if you could illustrate them. After I submit the few pages to the companies, under both of our names of course, if it gets accepted would you be interested in splitting the pay 50-50? I do not have any money to pay on a page by page basis so I was wondering if the first few pages would be free. I have a few character sketches that I could send along should you agree.

but you want this to be free so it wouldn't work.
Many of us could possibly help you out if you put some of the story/plot and off course the character's sketch, remember don't link to the sketch upload it using the upload button.

Why would anyone do this? Couldn't I just for example make my own comic and not have to split the pay with anyone? And why don't you just illustrate it? If you don't have the skills to do it why would anyone want to split the pay with you 50-50 considering this means you bring very little to the table...
