british wanting to join usmc?

hey guys, im british and i live in scotland. i want to join the usmc but i dont know if its possible. if i was to move to america would it be possible for me to join the usmc? m family has no us background that i know of either.

I couldn't see any problem with it, it's not like it's some secret club. Hell, Americans went overseas to be a part of the RAF in the World Wars before the US got involved.

well theres only one way to find out. the thing is, i heard yesterday, that the usmc final fitness test is pretty much the ontry requirements for the royal marines PRMC

you know what the Marines are like with the army. I guess its because Our equivalent Marine force is the Royal marines which compare to the Special ops of the USMC so it would be harder to join.

You need to be a US citizen, and I'm pretty sure it's for some amount of time. I know I got a Red Flag for a little for joining the US Army because I was born outside of the country. I think you have to be a citizen for around 4 years and live in the country for that time also.

Alternitively you could join the Royal Marines, like the USMC but better (they were modelled on the RM)

I'm not sure if the Marines are any different, but to be in my ROTC detachment you have to be a citizen of the United States.

If you're serious, I would recommend getting citizenship.

Move here, be legal, gain age, join. Simple as that.
