anyway me and a friend are starting flash and we have some pretty good art but we're a bit lost on what needs to be cut and layered to create motion with the animation and so forth we have a couple of character concept art pages put together pretty nicely and the appearence is set in stone but we need to figure out just where to cut the body parts and use. I figure when doing this you use just little rotating and sliding tweens right? please reply thank you
no heres a picture from a very early stage i have more if i should upload them?

Before u can make a animation one must learn the basic go to cartoonsmart.com they have the best free flash tutorials. After u learn the basic flash become easy i did your draw over with a mouse for example
it looks like Gorrilaz and Danny Phantom had a baby
ok well after all night of no sleep here's the final product and yes gorillaz was a bit of motivation behind the art i guess. it still has a bit more to go but we have an idea for one of three characters for the project.
ok so i figure you could use the bone tool for the neck on the head right? but what if i wanted him to wave i would just use free transforrm and motion tween his arms from shoulder to elbow and elbow to wrist then wrist to hand right?
witch version of flash do you have. If you have CS4 or above you can use bone tools to help animate your character. this link is an intro to flash bone tools: http://www.traptcg.com/content/bone-tool -and-3d-rotation-flash-cs4
As for breaking your character apart, try to turn the lower arm and upper arm body parts to movie clips with there rotation center points set at the top of the joints.

if you do that you would have to have each limb and body part in diferent layers and to draw a little faster that taking all night
