May be useless for you, but if you want to go to a music college band is somewhat necessary to take. Plus, it is an option class ( at least in my school ). If it is a mandatory class in your school, then yes, it would be useless.
Also, Gym, Religion, and Health classes. Health just pisses me off. For 3 years they just repeat the same shit over. It's not until the last year of High school where they actually talk about new shit.
Religion classes are just stupid. Period.
Gym = Study hall, except you just " run " around.
For a few years in high school I had a subject called CKV which was something like Cultural Artistic Development.
Now I know art and culture are good for your development, but it was given in such a lame way. You had to write reports and reviews about all kinds of things (movies, theater, paintings...) and everybody was just being as sarcastic and lazy as they could. Nonetheless everybody passed the subject in the end. In my opinion people should do these things in their free time, or only give these courses to the people who care.
Another subject I found rather lame was Economics. I couldn't pick any advanced courses in that, but the courses I had were just... incredibly simplistic math + logical thinking + knowing a few general economical terms. That was all there was to it. I doubt the advanced courses were any more interesting though, I heard economics is generally quite simple to anyone with a little math skill.
P.E never made sense to me, just because it's all competition, even though the school and school boards would deny that, the students and staff do turn it in to a competition, and it really should not be.

Was forced to take religion classes each year from grades 1 - 12.
Didn't learn a damn thing from them.

you're dutch:D I just finished high school, so no more useless subjects for me:D
I learned how to bake a cake that tasted like a gym sock.
For my next trick, I will need a condom and a volunteer.
Our school has an art appreciation class. I was always under the belief that you can't teach someone how to value something. It's an innate skill.
