I think you should work on the line art a bit more. The line art looks very restricted and unnatural. That could be because you have used the LINE tool, you should use the Brush tool. When you draw necks the back of the neck should meet the back of the head just below the ear. Not really sure if there's any special way you can colour it that'll make it look better. Just add some base colours that look right then slowly add some shading and lighting and depth.

Not really, it shows basic head anotomy and some proportions knowledge, but it won't look too much better unless you change the outline. Maaybe make the outer ones thicker would help?

No it's not that bad... did you do a sketch before you did the line art with the pen tool? If you didn't then you should scrap this or sketch the character first without basing it off this line art. The pen tool is pretty much the same as the line tool in the way that it creates the lines and curves for you according to how the tool is programmed and not according to your own style and hand movements. So that's why it's better to do a sketch first then use the line/pen tool if you want to use that to get neat lines. I prefer just using the brush tool though.

another word for a useless +1 post
and op first one looked better because it was clean but you may want to change the line weight/thickness to give it that little extra if you can, the second one is too rough and scribbly if thats a word
Does anyone know how to save an alpha channel in a jpeg without it disappearing? My lineart disappears when I save it as a jpeg, but the colors stay :(
