Let me get this out of the way. I'm emancipated, 17, and already on my way to the army next year. I had a one night stand with this girl who I suppose you could call my girlfriend. She took a pregnancy test and it was positive, and immediately she said we need to get an abortion.

Sort of, I mean I immediately thought Great! She wants to get one. If my college finds any records of it happening, though, I can get expelled and lose my scholarship. Seeing as you're 17 and thus don't have a reasonable income coupled with the fact that insurance doesn't cover the cost of an abortion, then I say give it up for adoption. I seriously do not think this is the right age for you to have a kid and you also don't want to have to pay for an abortion out of your pocket, so adoption, I think, is your best option.

I forgot to mention, the girl is kind of slutty. I suppose a paternity test is in order, as it's been 4 weeks since we actually fucked. We broke up, but she came back to me when she said her pregnancy test was positive. It's possible she could just be a babymama for someone else. I've scheduled her for a check up, and the doctor I spoke with also said he could take a paternity test. I hope to God I'm not the father, but I feel inclined to at least be there for the baby if I am.
