Pictures of slave children found.

The boys in the photograph are barefoot, dressed in rags and small.

And, according to art historians, they are likely slaves. Almost 150 years after slavery ended in the U.S., more proof of its dark history has been found in a North Carolina attic, a rare photo of slave children that may date to the early 1860s.

The photograph was found at a garage sale in Charlotte. With it was a handwritten document from 1854 describing the sale of "John" for $1,150.

This rare photo found in a North Carolina attic depicts two slave children. In April, the photo was found at a moving sale in Charlotte, accompanied by a document detailing the sale of "John" for $1,150 in 1854.

"I buy stuff all the time, but this shocked me," Keya Morgan, who bought the photo, told The Associated Press. Morgan, a New York art collector, said he paid $30,000 for the album containing the photograph and another $20,000 for the document.

I don't really care to be honest. Call it cruel but this was years before my own grandparents were born. It has nothing to do with me or them and slavery has been legally over for decades now too. I'm not shocked at these pictures and as sad as it was at the time no doubt, those boys are long dead.

We shouldn't still be made to feel guilty for things that we ourselves didn't do.

I really don't think that has anything to do with it. It's a chance to take a look at our past. It's amazing to see photos from 150 years ago. Actually, astounding. To see what the really wore, how they acted, and how it took 33223 years to take a mere photo, lol.

I don't know personally. Something about old pictures usually creeps me out. Probably because I'm used to seeing ones of posh Britons. I like seeing pictures of my dad as a kid though, it's kinda surreal how different even 50 years ago way. More closer to 150 years ago then to our time now I think.
