I'll admit, I follow the code of chivalry as well. These days though, chivalry is dead. Some people follow chivalry, others don't. So others don't see things like you do. No sense in arguing over it.

At your age, dating and relationships shouldn't be your main concern. On the other hand though, don't be so quick to dismiss it.

You're a smart man. No one at your age should be seeking a serious relationship (at least in today's society where you're usually in your 20s before you can really start the rest of your life with relative stability).
But at the same time, it's not a bad thing to date. You just have to keep in mind that the girls you're seeing now have a pretty damn slim chance of being "the one" with whom you desire a true, lasting commitment. That doesn't mean you can't enjoy the time you spend with her. I'm not even talking sex, just enjoy spending time together. The real problem is that kids today really just get involved into way too much drama and complicate things more than they should. It's silly when you sit back and think about it. But if you enter a relationship knowing that it's not gonna last forever, you enjoy the time you have, and when it's over, there's no need to hurt each other. Alas, you never really know how it's gonna end, though. Dating's pointless at your stage in life, so if you're not having fun, don't date, and certainly don't let anyone pressure you into it. Screw them and let them have their drama.

WE ARE DIFFERENT. LIVE WITH IT. Your living in some fucking fantasy where everyone is the same and everyone is equal. WE ARE NOT. You live in some idealistic setting where people are all the same and start out the same and "oh, women can do anything men can do." THEY CAN NOT. Lets get that straight. We are different and everything that is done is not equal. Women are and always will be biologically, mentally and even emotionally different than men. It is a fact of life you're going to have to do deal with. Women will never be Pro Football players, or ever participate in Male boxing or MMA or Basketball. Why? Because men are literally biologically stronger and more athletic than most women.

IT IS SIMPLE GENETICS. Over thousands of years, men have been hunters and and meal bringers. This therefore is why men were the first governors and presidents and leaders. Because at the dawn of time men were socially more important than women. Because they did something women couldn't, bring home the bacon and do to that simple fact of being stronger lead to an intimidation thing that naturally put men to be more important and therefore a better leader. But as man evolved we and became less dependent on the strong to lead us and everything became more of a political aspect rather than a strength aspect. This led to how women could become just as good of a leader as men, because it switched from to a political setting which was more of a mind thing than anything, and women are naturally just as powerfully minded as men so that makes women equal at leading. But even as the world changed the genetics DID NOT.

Women are still physically weaker because a man naturally has more muscle mass because it is are natural roles. Even though we are far more advanced than animals we still are influenced by the laws of nature. And the plain and simple fact of the law states that men are hunters therefore need more muscle so they can obtain energy for themselves and enough for the rest of their group. Women are mothers and therefore makes them more valuable because they have the power to continue a species and being more valuable means that it would be stupid to put them out hunting like the men because they might get hurt or killed and that means no babies which meant not species continuation. So they did the best they could by not only nurturing the young but by making houses and eventually cooking the food. It's not a bias thing it is a natural thing. Live with it.

So if women are weaker and less athletic and until recently less educated (but not anymore) than they should get special treatment to level the playing field. Because we can't do anything about the nature of things without going to extremes, we must do what we can to help. That is what Chivalry is all about. Helping ladies because men are more fortunate most of the time. And there's nothing wrong with that god damn it. It is because when all the Knights of ol' fought for the glory of god they knew that god wanted all men to be equal. So they treated women with tremendous respect because of the shit they took from everybody.

I sure hope this massive rant shows you that Chivalry is a good thing, it's not cause I think men are superior or better it's because women are naturally weaker and more emotionally off balance (especially now a days with things such as boyfriends pressuring them to give "it" up and some being single mothers and others with pregnancy scares). Some people in the world just want to level the fact that men get a better deal than women. Why? There is no why, it's just to be nice for the sake of niceness. Considering Chivalry was started by Christian Knights it's not that hard to believe.

Yeah, in intellect I've already stated that we are pretty much equals because nature doesn't have anything to do with it. But Men should act like men. I didn't mean treat women like gods and men like slaves I'm saying treat women better than you treat men. While you should always treat everyone with the respect off the bat go the extra mile for women. Cause men should be able to support them selves, it's our job to be able to support our selves and help women. Just as women try to support themselves and make it through the world. Since we are men we should support women and ourselves. Because we have the power to.

chivalry is a double edged sword..while is good to have moral standards most people (alot of women too) will see it as a sign of weakness and will try to take advantage of it so ya gotta find a balance

The only way to get relationship experience is to have relationships. They don't have to go anywhere. Everything builds and adds on. You learn more about what you want and need. You learn about how things work, how to deal with and treat your partner. Basically it's all one big learning experience. It's not just about finding the right person and magically having a great relationship with them, staying with them forever and ever. You're not going to marry the first girl you date and if you do then that would be ridiculous and foolish.

Are you saying that these frail, delicate women can't support themselves? Newsflash: They can! Nobody wants to be treated like a 2nd class citizen -- even if they benefit from it.
