The Kyoto deal, what do you think of it?
I personally think that it is a good idea, and should be brought to the US. But Bush won't have it because it limits the rights of major factories to... lets see... DESTROY OUR ENVIRONMENT!!!!!!!!! (If somethings important... say it with caps!) Well, if you voted for this man, let me say you got what you appearently wanted...

It's an admirable concept, but I think even if it were ratified by all concerned, it still wouldn't solve the problem, but merely serve to postpone things. That could be okay I guess if it meant giving someone some time to come up with some real solutions.

Well even if it doesn't come up with solutions, postponing a hell hole would be good with me, I wouldn't mind a few more years added on to my life. Also Though we all said our opinions, I'm not sure that any of us really understand the deal. Maybe this is an arrogant assumption, but If someone can direct me to some information further than what is said on the news please do.

God, how I hate George W Bush... He refused the treaty
because it was not in the US's "best financial interests"... Sure he'll get off easy.. He has 20 years to live... but I'll blame him when I die of lung cancer when I'm 34...

So far everyone has stated their opinon, yet no one has given me any facts that I have repeatedly asked for, which leads me to belive that you're making uneducated assumptions. Let's educate ourselves before we spout.

Sorry 'bout that... The Kyoto Deal is a document that will limit the amount of waste factories can pump into the sky.

Right, I read news week and the wall street journal, so I understand the basics, as I'm sure you do too, What I'm wondering is if i can find a copy of the kyoto deal or critique rather than a short 4 line description. Debating on what we don't know, isn't helpful.

Exactly. I feel that description isn't what Kyoto is all about. The mainstream media (NBC, CBS, Newsweek) misportrays it as stopping evil people from spilling waste around the world, Capt. Planet-style.

Yeah, we might help if people knew what they were talking about. I've tried searching, but I can't find a full transcript. I've found basic discriptions, but nothing too detailed (but more detailed then my "well thought out and overly discriptive" answer).
Maybe some of these links may or may not help...

Now who said Bush wasn't evil?
Seriously though, "The Kyoto Deal" may be a step toward improving the environment. Ever hear the phrase "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step?" While this may not be much, it's better than nothing. It's better than Bush wanting to increase the arsenic levels in our drinking water... but that's beside the point...
