It's an electronic, so it works on the basis of physics, and in conclusion - that means there has to be a formula showing how it works. Get to it. I'll be boiling my green tea for the time-being.

Ugh, so I've become very anal about my guitar playing lately. I'm working on using mostly my finger tips to fret the strings, since I have a bad habit of using the pads of my fingers sometimes. So now I'm going to correct it and as of now I'm practicing quarter notes at 80 BPM to get it better.

A big big big shot in the dark here, but its worth a try.

If anybody here has any experience/knowledge with amps and cabinets and stuff, could you apply some of that knowledge to this question of mine?

So I'm installing 2 6x9" speakers in my ute, and I'm making the box myself to fit behind the seat. Any tips on whether I should keep the magnet as far away from the walls/back of the box or...?

TLDR - Need help with speaker box

Just sounds fluffier and as if shaves off a bit of the 8 and 16KHz frequencies. If you want something special, you should of bought a pickup made from neodymium magnets. Q-Tuner.

How about checking this?

It's been a while since I uploaded it on newgrounds, but screw that... that is maybe the best thing I made with a guitar and a cheap mic. I won't upload anything for a while because I just stepped the mic, and now it's broken... so... fuck yeah! It's the second mic I stepped on and broke.

I want to learn something easy, melodic and emotional in standard tuning or drop d. Do someone know any song that fit in what I'm looking for?

So any help with standard D tuning? I normally wouldn't have a problem but of course when I drop the tuning on one string, two others get dropped too. Any certain fret positions for tuning or anything.

I'm not familiar with that trem, apparently its a floating one though so you need to go through a horrible process to detune. If you scout back a few pages Polish posted a guide to doing so. Maybe more than a few, this place has been largely inactive so I have idea how long ago things were :P.

I don't remember what kind of guitar I have, I think it might even be a bass...it has six strings, two knobby things, and it is blue. And it has three tuners on each side. And it came with a bag that says Maestro.
Favorite band is Alice in Chains, I am learning Man in the Box. Been playing since I was five.

Hey dudes. It's been a while. I won an oustanding soloist award at the jazz finals which means I'm gonna get some free jazz guitar lessons and I obtained a big shiny plague. It was pretty cool and I don't think I was good enough really. The feeling was overwhelming and took me by surprise. Also I'm still with the band playing and I'm still practicing. I'm playing on a new Ibanez Artcore and I really love it. Also I got a big book of scales to broaden my horizons.

You got an old-fashion semi-floating (Fender design) bridge there, buddy. Changing the tension of one or more strings alters the tension of other strings. This is due to the springs (in the cavity on the back) having a fixed tension that has been set perfectly to compensate the overall tension of all the strings when tuned to a perfect standard E while also causing the bridge to be aligned perfectly straight with the body. You have two options in this situation if you desire to play in Dropped D.

The proper and recommended option is to also change the tension of the spring.

The problem with this option is that it can be problematic if you aren't experienced or have the know of how to do it correctly. Trying to do it your first time may lead to you ruining the tension of the springs without knowing how to tune it back to standard after you give up hope. And this means paying a visit to a guitar shop and having them fix it.

The second option is to simply start tuning all the strings continually (you may have to come back to each string and adjust it to it's desired tuning 4 (There's no 'written-in-stone' amount of times you are suppose to do it, this is just from my own experience) or more times (this is normal)) until they stop dropping in tuning and finally reach a point where they're all in perfect tuning without coming in conflict with one another.

The problem with this option is that your bridge may be aligned a slight slope and may affect the action on your guitar and you may have to readjust the height of the bridge... which will also cause the strings to go out of tune (Due to the strings now being stretched along a slightly larger distance between the nut and bridge). Changing the height of the bridge is easy... on a Floyd Rose, on a fender semi-floating bridge... I would have any experience of how to do it on there.

-Traczyk

Cool dude, I just won the Woody Herman Jazz award in my school's county earlier this year, which is basically the same as an outstanding soloist award.

That's awesome. There were tons of people there though, and it took me five minutes just to work my way through to the crowd to get my award. Everyone made fun of me because of it. I got a $150 certificate for jazz lessons or a camp and I'm getting some lessons from this guy from Ames. I'm stoked. I need help with different styles of soloing and comping.

What do you guys recommend for tremolo picking, light, medium or heavy gauge plectrums?

I've pretty much settled with medium gauge plectrums, but I find it easier to pick with lighter gauges as opposed to the heavier gauges.

Also, any beginnerish songs that are good to jam to (i.e guitar 1, guitar 2/lead + rhythm) that you guys know of, list them :D

I use 1 mm, anything around that would be fine, but if its too thin it tends to bend too much and be harder to control.
