I use to get easily $40 to 80 an hour for fixing computers which took no more effort than clicking the mouse a few times and waiting on my ass the majority of the time. $12 is nice but not that crazy of a deal for hauling equipment outside where it could start raining and ruin the equipment or simply annoy people which might of had a bad day and just want to get their grocery shopping done and go home.
Well, I just use my acoustic guitar, and I live a 10 minute walk away.
It's also under like a covered area.
But yeah, it could annoy people, but it could also cheer up someone's day to hear some nice music.

$12 an hour means you are a crap busker. A good busker can get easily 3 times that. All you need is high foot traffic and to be very noticable in a visual sense. You pretty much need to get it so there is no way anyone can ignore you.
Not in front of a ghetto grocery store and the performer being fifteen.
I'm like RIGHT NEXT TO THE DOOR too.
I mean, it's not FANTASTIC, but it's not bad either, especially since it's the first performing for money I've been getting into.
I was in a band for a while, but they kicked me out because they were really lazy about scheduling rehearsals and I lived OMG 15 MINUTES AWAY THATS TOO LONG and then they went and put in actual effort and got gigs, so I never got around to making money that way..

I've considered doing this, but I wouldn't know what to play, and it'd be weird because I can't sing.
I don't sing either (I can hit notes but my voice isn't that great), and I still make the cash!
