I have a line 6 spider at its fucking horrendus. I wouldn't recomend it to anyone.

As for guitar, i have a blue Ibanez RG 370DX. I installed it the killswitch button (fun little gimmick xD). Let me just say its a very good cheap shred guitar. Its also signed by Yngwie fookin Malmsteen.

I don't think Yngwie is one for lacking confidence or being self-conscious.

You can't melt faces with an acoustic.

Lol, he signed it in an in-store apearence he did at the local guitar store the day before his concert. When i gave him the guitar, he started messing with the killswitch. He said "pretty cool, rock on!" and signed it. And no, he wasn't eating any doughnuts. He's still fat, but looks like hes lost some pounds since the G3 03 DVD.

I like his song Beyond the Rising Donut. It's a pretty fat tune, the sound is nice and big.

Get a Yamaha BB414.

The sounds you can get out of it are amazing. Great bass for the price.

So, other than the donut fiasco, what do you guys think of Yngwie as a musician?

I don't really like him that much tbqh. I do accept the fact that he was extremely innovative for his time, and is one of the most influential guitar players of all time, but his playing gets old fast. The only songs i like from him are far beyond the sun, blackstar and a few of his 80's hair metal classics. Everything else is BOOORING. Not only that, but hes also pretty sloppy live, and his improv solos get old very fast. He does pull of a very entertaining show though, and his stage presence is unmatched.

He probably just eats loads of cakes.

You can be fat and not eat donuts :P.

I really like him. He's a good player but I don't like him for that reason as I prefer Buckethead, Jarzombek and Gilbert more (and loads of others, but I just wanted to mention them :P). But I think his songs are good.

The best thing I can say for Yngwie is that... well.. um, nope, nothing.
He was sort of a guilty pleasure for me for a while, though, but even then I realized he was pretty awful.

That's really great that you did it by ear, definitely a forgotten art in the guitarist world. On the hand, giving the song a listen, I only hear power chords and a lot of yelling.

I too play 100% by ear. Ive never even tried to read a tab in my life, i don't have the attention span to do so.

The last song i learned by ear was Lucretia by megadeth, I think, im not sure...

I used to read tabs religiously but learning by ear defines a great musician. I play about 80% by ear or improvision now, and only read a tab if I really need it.

I'm going to univeristy in 6 weeks and basically need a USB style device in order to hook my guitar up and use cubase etc to save me lugging a massive amp down and having to restrict my volume level.

I've seen reviews of M audio fast-tracks and Guitarports and they all seem pretty mixed.
Some people give the M audio a 10, whilst others say it's pretty much a giant piece of ****e, the guitarport is pretty much the same.

So, I hope anybody can give me any suggestions from experience of good guitar usbs below £90

You're going to be wanting to buy a proper sound card for 100$ and figure out a way to use one of those. USB is going to get you terrible sound. My guitar goes through a multi-effects pedal before continuing straight to the computer's Digital-In.
