This club was a good idea. I tried to play guitar when I was a little kid, but it turns out that I'm too stupid. So I play drums. :D

I own an Ibanez standard, 22 fret guitar. I've been playing for about 2 and a half years. Don't know where to start in terms of my favourite bands. Let's see here... Metallica, Led Zepplin, AC/DC, Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, Rolling Stones, the list goes on and on...

That's equally as hard to answer as what my favourite band is. I'll just list the ones I like the most: All Along The Watchtower, Purple Haze, Voodoo Child, Hey Joe, The Wind Cries Mary, etc. There are many others, but I can't be bothered to think of them right now.

do you have the band of gypsies cd, cuz you didn't mention any of the songs on that, and many people would say that was his best work.

Lets see here, I have a 20 year old knock off acoustic guitar, I've been playing for about 10 months and some of my favorite bands to play are Pearl Jam, Radiohead, a little bit of Howie Day. If anyone knows any good places to find some leads it would be sweet to put them up here.

My band has been together for a couple months, and we just got recording equipment this week, so in a couple of months i plan on having about 5 or 6 songs on here (although some of our songs are in the 7 minute range).

I strongly suggest people check this out!

heh...thanks! We've had three songs played on the radio locally here. They have a program called "Noise in the Basement" that you can submit your demos to be played on the air....Nothing beats the sound of your music coming over the air! It just sounds.....so big when broadcast!!

My computer was fucked up, for like a week i couldn't use the internet. I felt like a fucking heroine addict in rehab. I'm so psyched, i finally have a bassist for my band, and we have written four tight songs so far.

What do the types of songs fit under which genre?

it took me a long time to come up with the name of the genre, cuz we're kinda all over the place, but i think we could be best described as experimental funk metal. The name of our band is Fistula.

is anyone here familiar with home recording, because i seriously need some tips. right now we're using a mixer, a four-track, and 5 mics to record our shit, but the sound quality is terrible.

yes...you are probably trying to record "live" That doesn't work...you have to record one track at a time...guitar, bass, drums, vocal, etc...with a 4-track recorder, once you have 2 tracks that you are happy about, you can record both to one track, allowing you to have three tracks to work with again! There should be no external noise when laying down a track. If it doesn't sound right, try moving the mic around until you find what works. Just record a few secs of the piece to try out mic placement.....A little experimenting works wonders!

we don't record live, i was looking more for tips like mic brand names, and volume techniques. i bet with experimentation we'll improve though.

I'm a drummer by principal, but I also play bass, keyboards, sing, and of course guitar. I own a late 80's Dean Playmate with 3D tiger paint job. Some of my fav bands are Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Metallica, and SOAD. I've been playing for just under a year, and have been loving every minute of it. Rock on Cleveland. hehe
