Anyone with a Facebook, like this page.

A quote from the page that I liked, in response to a South African posting about how we're being selfish for not wanting to hear the Vuvuzelas.:

"Nothing like words of welcome from a host nation that has opened its doors to different cultures from around the world and then drowned out the cultural expressions of fans from other countries with continual the monotonous blasts from plastic horns."

You're betting that Italy are gonna score three goals? That seems unlikely to me. Italy is well known for playing very defensively and aiming for 1-0 victories.

On top of that they are completely out of shape. In the last few games they lost to Mexico and the matches against Switzerland and Cameroon ended up in a draw. They were victorious versus Sweden with a 1-0 and Cyprus with a 3-2, but those were there only wins in the past seven matches.

Damn, you're right. I actually did that because for as much as I know Italy is an awesome football country and I've never heard of Paraguay playing football. Mmm, I should've checked their practicing matches so I could watch how they're both in shape this time...

Well you are right in that they are a big football country. Their shape before the WC doesn't have to matter, but their general tactics do not promise a lot of goals from their side (unless they have to score).

I'm not saying you're wrong though. I'm just saying I would never bet on such a result in a match with two defensive countries :p

Nah Andrea Pirlo is definitely ruled out against Paraguay.

Ouch, then Italy might have a tough time scoring against Paraguay...

I've never seen Paraguay play football, to be honest, so I can't really estimate what their capabilities are. Italia is pretty good at playing football (they proved that with winning in 2006... they did win that one, right?) so I'm pretty sure that if Paraguay isn't playing well, they'll be screwed. I've pouled 3 - 1, by the way.

Well, they have a pretty good defense, they qualified in 3rd... And their attack is pretty good as well, although Santa Cruz is scratched, apparently... Still they have a decent football.

WHOA, 1-0 PARAGUAY!

And hey, that foul didn't exist! That's silly...

Anyway, it's been a decent game so far, both teams taking some opportunities, a lot of defensive plays and, of course, shitty vuvuzelas. Bleh, I hope Italy draws this one.

It's probably a good thing Italy equalized. At least both sides will have to go for the offense again to achieve that minimal victory.

Anyway I'm supporting Paraguay. I never liked the Italians when it comes to football.

I think he is referring to that friendly match that was held not too long ago where Mexico won to Italy (2-1).

Bleh, Paraguay were disappointing there. If they had just tried to win it while Italy were short of confidence the game could have been over. Instead they were too aware of the expectation that Italy were good and would beat them, and tried to hold out for the 1-0, and then 1-1.

As I've said before, this is the weakest Italy team in years. Hardly any of them are left from their win in 2006, and those that are are now well past their best. Pepe looked a good player (I loved his desire to push for the win), but otherwise they looked clueless for most of the game and only improved once Paraguay sat back and let them attack. A good team will beat them comfortably (and that draw means they may come second in the group and face the Dutch in round 2).

Just watched Paraguay vs Italy from afar - if you ask me it was the best match yet. Both teams looked hungry and played well and the score really reflected the match.

Also, loved that Japan managed to overcome Cameroon! IKIMASHOO NIPPON !

I thought Italy-Paraguay was quite entertaining - a deserving score. The Italians played well when they looked at the Paraguay defense and figured they were getting pretty flimsy, and the same happened opposite in the first half. There were some great deliveries into the box, both goals included, though the foul just before the first was... well, non-existant. Probably the worst refereeing so far, with that in particular regard.

If the vuvuzelas were banned, it would show that the real players were TV companies, as far as I can make out. lol, they're fine. People are having fun. When they stop doing so, then you can consider something.

And I'm looking forward to North Korea ;)

I heard that Tim Howard got his final examination today.

Anyone know what the final say is? Is he going to be able to play on Friday?

We really need him. with all the goals he blocked off against England, him to really be out there.

What a shame, Mister Jensen.
I never asked for this, Mister Denton.

Howard's is fine. They didn't even take any X-rays or a MRI. Just some rest and some pain meds and he'll be ready for Friday.

Netherlands just beat Denmark 2-0 Denmark was my pick for that group and know some regretting is going on. England and USA in the same group is trouble. Portugal's an amazing team but they don't get to show there skills in the knockout tournment because Brazil usually wins being the best.

No exiting matches on today. I expect Brazil to win at least 5-1 against North Korea, but so far every time when I thought "They have to win by a mile!" the match was really disappointing.

You're kidding?

The Portgual vs Ivory Coast game should be exciting. They both know that Brazil will be the favourites to top their group and this game, even if it is both their first of the tournament is a critical one.
