My only concerns for bad submissions are anything with unsuitable content or broken flashes. Anything like them I don't even make an icon for. I'll just get them passed on to the admins.

We do log who submits each icon but there isn't a web form that lets me check - I would have to ask Rob to look it up in the database, and I am trying to avoid any special requests because they add up and slow down the redesign. For now I'm just assuming it's a harmless prank (although PLEASE don't do that sort of thing), but we can check into it later.

I've seen some educational flashes like this one since I got modded. I think it would be nice if Tom created a flash collection of educative flash movies. Oh well, I'm just sharing my thoughts to you :P

Actually we have a movie genre of "Informative", so I updated the genre info on that submission and it will appear under the "Informative" listing under MOVIES. There are a few collections that will go away after the redesign launches - for example I updated the genre info for everything in the "Experimental" collection to fall under the experimental movie category. The Sound Boards collection will also go away when Sound Boards become a sub-genre of Gadgets in the GAMES section.

On that note - expect a big attack on genre info to eventually happen. We have a bunch of genre mods who have already been doing a great job with this, but we may ultimately need to create a page of everything that is still missing genre info.

I've been curious for a while now.

I know Icon Mods are charged with resizing Icons for flash animations; but ever since their implementation I haven't seen any changes in any flash.

Are these Icons at all viewable? What is the purpose of resizing the icons?

When the redesign comes around, the icons will change into the new, bigger format

The icons are only viewable if you go to someone's /flashicons page or if a flash that did not have a 46x46 icon at all gets one that's 140x90. Flashes that already had icons before this change are unaffected.

Like http://tomfulp.newgrounds.com/flashicons . They're all new icons but they're not visible in the 46x46 previews they used to have but say someone like Smosh had an icon or 2 replaced after I did them.

that's the only place you can see them.

The purpose.. I guess it's like if you were to post a link to a flash on Facebook or something, it would show the NG logo rather than the icon for the flash. After the redesign bigger icons will show up rather than the NG logo.

Other than that I have no idea. That's just what I know from what Luis said in some other thread. Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong alskdhaklshda

Not every mod is in the FAQ. Next to genre mods, there are also wiki mods ;)

I guess they just don't need to be in there.

Yeah sorry about not using it lately. I've been busy trying to work on games and learn actionscript and junk so I haven't put in time for making icons. I'll start claiming some now though.

The FAQ is dated in some areas. Nonetheless, I would assume that they are more or less just volunteers working in the background and doesn't need to be noted.

I'm still using your site but like I've said a few times before, Clock Day flashes are a top priority for me so I'll only claim the odd artist on your site if I feel I've worked on enough Clock Day flashes for one day. However, once I'm done with those pages, expect me to claim more from your site. :)

Welcome aboard digital-musician, Sectus and 2534!

BTW, I find it strange that 2534 is right at the end of the list of icon mods yet 14hourlunchbreak is first on the list. I thought 2534 would have been right after 14hourlunchbreak considering lists are usually sorted by numbers first. :S

Apologies for nitpicking on minor details.

I guess they just don't need to be in there.

Or maybe they will appear in the New FAQ when the redesign is already here. Maybe the admins don't have enough time right now to update it.

But anyways, it's good to have more people preparing everything for the big redesign.

And I can easily forgive the staff for these minor errors since they're a small team and have much bigger things to worry about. Although I've criticised YouTube many times for errors on their site, Newgrounds have their reasons.
