Every time I try it comes out terribly.

Hit the screenshot key on your keyboard at the moment you want it for the icon, then put it into photoshop or flash whatever you use, and crop it and save it as an image file like a JPEG. also if you're on a laptop the prt sc key is fn + insert, or atleast it is on my laptop.

I should start doing that. But I don't think popular flash authors read PM's, because most of them get a shitload of PM's.

im trying to get through some of the old stuff but not having much luck, either having to contact the author or contact an icon mod is a real drag when dealing with the old inactive users flash

ask the author, if theres no reply then contact an icon mod, as has been said, be careful with the more well known or active people, they may want to do their own

I'm going to have to say this on every page then. Don't do icons for active flash authors unless they give you the OK to. Some may want to do them themselves so you'd only be wasting your time.

Yea. Although doing one as a sample might not be such a poor idea. If the author is really NG-famous act professional ;)
