IMHO, Super Mario Bros. 3 wasn't more fun because of content but because it had more replay value. Once you beat Super Mario Galaxy 100%, you might as well throw it away. Super Mario Bros. 3, for me, was more fun because of replay value, not fun factor. I found Super Mario Galaxy entertaining, it's hard to knock that down. :/
