Our Flash submit and edit forms now REQUIRE thumbnail submissions (GIF, JPG, PNG, BMP, etc.) and the new size is 140 pixels wide by 90 pixels tall. These new sizes will go public in a future update, when we feel enough submissions are being properly represented.

Our system will create a temporary 46x46 thumbnail for new submissions and existing 46x46 icons will remain in use until the big change takes effect.

Please update your old Flash thumbnails!

You will notice your user page now includes a link to your 140x90 icons (here are mine), to make it easier to see which ones need updating. You can also directly access the edit form from your individual submissions. There's a reference image at the bottom of this post.

If you run into any situation where your image upload doesn't work, PM me with the subject "ICON FAIL" and include any error messages you received on the page and a detailed explanation of what happened. Also include your OS and Browser type and version.

Sorry for the extra work... But change is exciting, right????!!

If you don't have time to update your icons, I have made a volunteer thread where you can post requests and users / icon mods will make them for you.

Blank placeholders are probably put back in until updated later, I'm guessing.
Better than having them stretched out to inappropriate proportions, those pixels.

Art will remain 90x90... Audio will become 90x90 but audio without 90x90 icons will just be a nice CD and not a "missing icon" image. And yeah... The whole CD icon is already outdated I guess.

Is there going to be any change to the Movies & Games of the Week and Today's Best section at the bottom of every page? It just comes to mind 'cause it seems the new size will be a bit more difficult to work with.

Hmm... might want to update a few things prior to that layout change then. You can't change the icon of an audio submission once it's been uploaded and with certain submissions (for me that is like three quarters of my songs) can't be edited in any way at all (is it that way with Flash too? I don't think it is).

And yeah... The whole CD icon is already outdated I guess.

It would be nice to have just a square. Like album art. Perhaps even with an option to download a higher resolution image to go with the song when played back in media players/iPods whatever. The only songs on my ipod without album art are NG submissions and that bugs me.

I've heard (multiple times) that the icon mod tools are broken. I used to make icons in the icon helper page but I don't make them anymore because of this :(
