Comix Zone is the greatest video game ever made.

Also get:
Sonic 1
Sonic 3
Streets of Rage 2 (best in series, maybe get 3 as well)
Golden Axe 1-3
Mega Bomberman
Space Harrier 2
Jurassic Park

Also, is the 6-button controller necessary?
What about the CD and 32x attachments?

The 32x failed because it costed almost as much as the console and the Saturn was coming out soon, but its dirt cheap these days so it could be worth getting. I remember playing SonicCD at a friends house and it was epic, so I might buy one just for that if I can find one cheap..

Then you might want to invest in that 6 button controller.

If you don't have it, the block button is used to use items instead (which are selected with L and R), and the game blocks automatically, whereas if you have the 6 button, A and B remain the same, but C blocks, and X, Y and Z use your first, second and third item respectively.

Looks like I wont be getting the CD attachment, on ebay the cost ~£70

I think I'll buy the 6-button pad. Even if its not required it can't hurt to own one.

Rambo.
Robocop Vs Terminator.

I also grew up with Golden Axe, Sonic The Hedgehog and Streets Of Rage, but they've been mentioned already. There was also some kids games like The Simpsons, but I doubt they're worth mentioning.

This too will pass.

Streets of Rage 2 and 3.
Earthworm Jim.
Shinobi 3.
Zero Wing~ Once you get past the "all your base" thing, it's a damn good game.

Ristar is a phenomnal title. Arguably the Genesis's swan song before they messed everything up with the multiple console launches and what not.

Vectorman 1 and 2
Gunstar Heroes
Contra Hard Corps (might want to get a game genie for this)
Sonic 1 - 3
Streets of Rage 1 - 3
Castelvania Bloodlines
Shining Force I and II
Phantasy Star II - IV
Shadowrun
Rocket Knight Adventures 1 and 2 (the second one is called Sparkster)
Comix Zone (6 button controller is mandatory for this)
Mortal Kombat I - 3 (Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 is better than the regular third one; get a 6 button for this)
Golden Axe 1 - 3
TMNT: Hyperstone Heist
Street Fighter 2
Mutant League Football and Hockey (you don't have to like sports games to like these)
General Chaos
Earthworm Jim 1 and 2
Ristar
Splatterhouse 2 and 3 (first one is on the Turbo Grafix - 16 if you're wondering)

Many, many more too.

I thought they were obselete since no good games came out.

They had their gems: Knuckles Chaotix for the 32X, and Popful Mail for the Sega CD.

Aladdin is a must!

Has to be the best Disney game on the MegaDrive (not hard to be I guess). Worthy buy.

Did you get the good ending or the bad ending on Comix Zone?

Also, I totally forgot about the Strike games.

Get them all. In Urban Strike, terrorists blow up the World Trade Center.

Anyway I found that one of my friends had a Sega CD and was going to throw it out, so I took it off his hands. All I have is one shitty point'n'click game for it, so some suggestions would be appreciated.

Zombies Ate My Neighbors is by far my favorite, but since I am a huge Sega fanboy I can recommend some obscure/underrated shit such as:

Gaiares
Corporation
Mega Lo Mania
Truxton
Shadowrun
Crusader of Centy
Nobunaga's Ambition

Yeah. If you're too slow at the boss, she dies.

How did they get away with putting that in a game?

Because it was made in 1994?

I forgot to mention Kid Chameleon that's like the Genesis' response to Mario (besides Sonic). There's tons of power-ups that involve shaping shapes (like samuaris and knights) with all different abilities. Fun and addicting.

Contra Hard Corps is another must have.
Aladdin is actually fun too for a kid's game.
X-Men 1 and 2 are great action games.
Ecco the Dolphin is another really fun game that looks really gay and childish.
