US sinks UN resolution on Yassin

"The US has vetoed a United Nations Security Council resolution condemning the killing of the spiritual leader of Palestinian militant group Hamas.
Sheikh Ahmed Yassin - a paraplegic who used a wheelchair - died on Monday in an Israeli missile attack.

A majority of council members voted for the resolution, but the US employed the veto reserved for permanent members.

The US called the resolution "one-sided". It had demanded Palestinian militant groups be named in it.

The resolution's sponsor Algeria said it seemed the Security Council was "doomed to fail" when dealing with Middle East issues."

---

THE WAY THEY VOTED
For: China, Russia, France, Angola, Chile, Pakistan, Spain, Algeria, Benin, Brazil, Philippines
Abstained: UK, Germany, Romania
Veto: US

Nope, there seems to have been more than one.

Personally, I agree with them. After all, Sharon's going to be in a job this time next year...

So, he deserved to die (after all, he was a TERRORIST!!!), and that's that?

OK, so what do you make of the PLO? Do they, especially Arafat, deserve to die because Sharon portrays them as TERRORISTS!!! as his army commit systematic genocide in the West Bank?

And, I notice there wasn't any debate (used in the loosest possible sense) when Idi Amin died last year. So, one of the worst dictators of the past 25 years dies, and apparently that isn't worth mentioning in passing? Of course not - Saddam's sons died the week before, and apparently that means more to people.

Just go to Uganda, or the surrounding nations where people fled in terror, and try and tell them that.
