You know what really grinds my gears?

People who take these optional classes in high school known as advanced placement.

Usually one would be living it up in normal easy classes or in the school in my area INCREDIBLY PASS FOR COMING EASY but they choose to go to AP classes

They brag left and right in the beginning but bitch to no end later on how they are failing.

It is truly idiotic to flunk out of such a easy fucked up school but they WILLINGLY do it anyway

Im sure you have seen this done but really WHY take these classes they offer no real benefit anyway

Anybody else ever notice the deushbaggery that goes on with this wack ass retarded trend?

You get college credits for taking them. Well at least to my knowledge they do.

AP=college credit.

It's always nice to challenge yourself, especially when it comes to school work. And the AP tests are all standardized so it's a good opportunity to show your smarts. Now people who take AP classes and fail should probably think about taking easier classes.

It's been that way for as long as I can remember and it's been about three years since I've gone to high school. I have no idea how they don't offer them in PA since aside from the challenge, that's the main reason to take them.

Well would you agree honestly that taking them is the stupidest shit if the education was poor to begin with and you have nothing to look back on as far as previous knowledge and they determine if you pass the year.

Dumb and one hell of a gamble for nothing at all. Ghetto kids look down on people who excel so I doubt that AP classes will make them seem COOL.

Do any of your schools offer "pre-ap" courses? Ours started in like 5th grade. If you do well in those classes in junior high, 9th, 10th grade etc. then AP classes shouldn't be too big of a problem.

Also, AP and pre-ap on the GPA scale over here are worth 5 points, instead of 4. So GPA boost ftw? And there's slackoff AP classes too. Like AP Psychology, or if you're a native speaker of a language it shouldn't be too hard to take either, say AP Spanish.

You're just mad because you have downs and you can't get into any AP classes.

That is a fact.

No one at my high school complained too much about how hard AP classes were. There were always a couple people that would completely suck in a class, though. It'll happen. People try and they fail sometimes.

I toke nine AP classes, five my senior year. It was tough, yeah, but I did pretty well.

Home school has too many negatives that outweigh the "positives" in my opinion.

No real benefit

Except for the AP test at the end of the year, for college credit, meaning a $300+ class you don't have to take in college.

Go fuck yourself you dumb piece of shit! I'm smarter than you in every way! Just because I don't want to go to college doesn't make me stupid. I won't go because I don't want to meet assholes such as yourself! Not to mention it's just more years of school which is something I won't need because I already did 12 years.

Maybe they're planning on going into a different field? I'm taking AP Art.
On that note, don't take AP classes if you're going to an art school (besides art classes). All my fcking AP classes are useless! ...except for making my fail GPA look good.
"Yeah, it's a 2.5, but look! Look over here! AP English! YesIalmostfailedittwice. Look! AP Something Else!"

Anyone who says that AP classes have "no real benefit" are obviously retarded. As soon as you have to start registering for classes during your first semester of college, then it really hits you--you all of a sudden realize the true value of high school AP classes. This is even more so when you're spending most of your own money on college instead of your parents paying for you (personally I think college in general is a way overpriced rip-off, but that's an entirely different story). AP credits allow you to skip through numerous boring introductory courses like English Comp I or Calculus I, and allow you more freedom in choosing more interesting electives. I think AP exams cost what...$86 per exam these days? It was $84 when I was a senior, but in any case, the exam fees are a lot cheaper than community college courses.

When I was in high school, I took 2 AP classes (U.S. History and Calculus BC), so I started my freshman year of college with 12 credits. Now that I'm 20 and well out of high school, I still can't stop thinking sometimes, "Man, I really should have seized the opportunity to take more AP classes in high school." But I can't go back in time, so I have to live with what I already have. Another important point: the APs I took had fewer retards in class and more competent teachers who knew their stuff and made the material (as tough as a lot of it was) easily comprehensible to just about everyone.
