A Ride in the Countryside
Twas Mid-September, when I pedaled home that weary day
Although a cramping leg and bitter mood caused me delay
I found that as I crossed a path of one who knew not me
I could not help but later think that it was destiny
This creature crawled quite carefully, but with haste, I might note
A Fuzzy Black-Brown worm of sorts, traversing 'cross the road.
An insect not unlike all the many I'd seen before
But there was something special about this one to be sure
And at first thought, I lifted foot and brought it down again
Before the fuzzy caterpillar; pausing there, but then
I realized with due surprise that he'd done me no wrong
And so I left it there to bear it's burden in the sun
And lo, I shaded it, as it continued on it's path
Across the pavement tiny legs had cut the bug a swath
And with it's journey done, I turned, and thus said my goodbyes
"Live on Caterpillar, for this world needs more Butterflies."

Brilliance
Sweet whispers of the morning call to me
I shake from weary eyes the night's demure
Bright sunlight fills my eyes, is all I see
It's blinding brillance striking me, so pure
But never could a light so bright defeat
A brighter one that burns with such a will
Her tawny eyes the spark that starts the heat
Her smiling face the fan that stirs the kiln
And as inferno rages on inside
My fingers dance across her porcelain skin
To think I thought the flame I sought had died
But only now do I see it begin
Beside her, feelings I once felt are naught
The brilliance of the sunlight long forgot

Melancholy of Roses
A thousand thousand roses bloom
And in their beauty they consume
The petals dance
And in a trance
They smother me in gloom
A hand snakes out, and takes my own
The feeling chills me to the bone
It grabs my soul
And makes me whole:
I'm pulled from Rosy throne
I fear the face; but it is new?
Shining like the morning dew
As I fall back
My mind goes black
Not knowing what to do
She saves me with her sweet embrace;
A smile dawns upon my face
As I take her hand
And understand
The dreams I used to chase.

Michelle ma Belle
What man could claim to know one such as you
And claim a space so tight inside your heart
Sometimes I fear that I may never do
A lonely puppet failed to play his part
And oft when these thoughts riddle my young mind
Your image comes and has a word with me
It speaks of how I'm simply not the kind
To let your love be wasted as I see
And so the poet crafts with loving hand
A sonnet for the fairest maiden born
To let not mem'ry fade or become bland
Of one who had so mended a heart torn
Michelle, an angel, sent from far above
Spared him a bitter hell and showed him love
