This has been brought up to me by one of my die-hard Apple friends. He's truly an idiot and has ADHD, which is why he bought an iPod Touch and can't handle real games like the ones on the Xbox 360. And he still tries to convince me that Macs are better computers.

Anyway, I think that this is definitely no big deal. So, Apple has passed Microsoft for one day. Apple could pass Microsoft for one week, month, year. But it's really no big deal. All Apple has are iPods and computers. All Microsoft has are Xboxs and computers. Microsoft clearly beats Apple in computers, seeing they still control 90% of the market.

What are your thoughts on this?

So I'm split on the companies. For gaming, Microsoft is surely fun an expansive, but Apple has this interesting time waster. For computers, Mac's certainly run much better, but PCs are ... hmm...

Just to say something, I once owned an iPod Touch. I sold it because it wasn't that fun and was just collecting dust. I did try it, and I didn't like it. The screen got scratched when I dropped it once. It's not really made of a durable material.

Oh well. iPhones and iPods are just selling more. The iPhone/iPod Touch market has been skyrocketing ever since it's release, it's about time they passed. Doesn't mean they're better though, Microsoft has some amazing things in their workshop that they never release but have prototypes up. You can find videos of it on YouTube. Like the Surface for one hasn't been distributed publicly or advertised, but is amazing if you haven't seen it.

Apple products will always be tacky and extremely hit or miss. I haven't come into contact with one person using an Ipad yet. They're bulky and useless.

I think most people want a product that's handheld and has a very capable and fast web browser with a lot of space and a good processor. Apple managed to create a retarded medium between the netbook and the cellphone. It's a step backwards, and something only people with an extremely big wallet and extremely low IQ would buy.

Microsoft doesn't make computers. They develop software for them. But other than that, their consumer electronics include the Zune and the Xbox. So the real statistics should be compared in the amount of software installed on machines. iPods win over Zunes any day even though I happen to be a happy Zune owner, but that's just in sales.

Yes, it does. Mac are fucking horrible, people who buy them are imbeciles that prefer appearance of the product over what it actually does. Apple takes advantage of that and makes Macs (and all of their products) expensive.

I have yet to see a satisfied Mac owner that owns that computer for over 5 months.

From what I gather, Apple makes very visually appealing products, but that are extremely limited in what they are capable of doing or being changed to do.

Pc's can be visually stunning if you invest the time to find what you want, and can be endlessly upgraded and changed to do whatever the hell you want. There is no dump ToS telling you i you try to upgrade, or change the product you'll have your product shut down, unlike the way apple is trying to go for.

Obviously I lke PC's better than macs, and I suppose if you really want to use a mac, and are happy with it, then fine. outside of there itouch line type shit, apple doesn't have a lot going for it.

Ever since my friend told me about this, I've been arguing this fact. I'm just glad to see that somebody else also has pretty much the same views as me. They're getting a lot of their money from just overpricing their crap, which Microsoft doesn't do. But, as a stereotypical Mac user, they defend that it's not overpriced because it comes pre-installed with a lot of artsy software.

Apple has investors that are willing to pay more money just to own their stock. It isn't surprising that a company that manages to overcharge for everything it sells would also manage to do this for its stock. Essentially, its a bunch of apple whores who entered the tech stocks who drove it this way. In reality, this just means a bunch of stock brokers *think* apple is worth more, it doesn't mean its based in reality.
