4.09 / 5.00 12,195 ViewsAlas, my poor dog. A beautiful shelty named Pepsi. A 16 year life full of joy and ease. I've had him since I was a small boy begging "please". My best friend throughout childhood and the best dog you could ever ask for. Once so full of energy. But now, he can barely stand. His once bright eyes are dull and sightless. His joyful bounds and happy runs through the park are lost to severe arthritis. While he once ran to greet me whenever I opened the front door, his hearing is gone, and he can only feel the largest of vibrations in the floor. His eyes flood with pain at every movement. His youthful energy is gone. I'm sorry, Pepsi. But your time is nearly up. I love you so much, but your pain is too great. It's time to let you have your last peaceful sleep. Just two more days, so I can hold you once more. Let me say my goodbyes, and allow me to mourn. I'll hold you, bud, as the nurse preps the needle. I'll look in your eyes as the meds creep their way in. Your trusting gaze I'll hold until the soft light blinks out. And in that moment you die, rest peacefully assured, your best friend will cry.
If you dont think you're awesome, then you fucking suck!
Awe that sucks. I've never had a pet other than a goldfish long enough to witness it die so I have no idea what the feeling is. I imagine it's horrible. Sorry.
Hey, at least your dog didn't die when you were watching Monty Python's The Meaning of Life.
True story, he also had balls the size of watermelons.
What a shame, Mister Jensen.
I never asked for this, Mister Denton.
You should be a writer.
No seriously.
Also, best wishes for your dog ~
Gave me chills. That really sucks, man.
Time heals all wounds, and all that good stuff. It'll be all right.

I'm very sorry for your loss.I lost a dog just 1 1/2 years old about 2 months ago.
One of my dogs just died exactly a week ago. It sucks.
think of it this way, at least in heaven he/she will be able to relive his/her puppy days
Honestly, I didn't think your post was very well written, but I it impacted me regardless. When your dog dies, he will be physically no more, but the memories live on. All those beautiful days, where it was just you and your best friend exploring the world through walks, will live on. His lustrous eyes gleaming with life and vim will survive in your mind. Death is inevitable, but despair isn't -- when the time comes, and your dog goes to a better place, don't fall into the abyss of depression, for then you'd be tarnishing all the joy you and your dog had together. Just remember the good times: the gentle feeling of your hand brusing his delicate fur, his powerful bark, and most of all -- his unyeliding kindness and warmth. Not many men experience the gift of a dog that is truly their best friend, and, thankfully, you're one of them -- never forget those marvelous memories.

I can't help but think this whole thread is about soda
I had a sheltie and still have one. I think the first one lived to about the same age as pepsi. They're awesome and perdy dogs, sorry to hear man.
The sig that I'm wearin? Awesomely made by Skaren!
Also, I like annoying Americans by calling English football "real football" and American football "rugby".-Lost-Chances

I did. And I don't regret it. Certainly a unique name. And it ended up fitting him perfectly.

Made me cry.
I'm watching my dog go slowly senile before my eyes- each day he grows a little more crazy...
... but I love him dearly, he's always been a loving pup and he has many fruitful years ahead of him.

Hey, man, I know how much it hurts to lose a pet you love so much. You have my sympathy. At least he won't be in anymore pain when he passes.
